I have traumas from Olympic sailing. In London I watched our sailors losing medals in medal races (4th and 5th) and now I see huge lead being wasted.

 

Well you won the 49er in 2008... Oh wait. You helped us win it (but this time Croatia protested against Rindom :( )! :p

Seems like the 49er FX will have the most exciting medal race of the Olympics. 

They aren't done with the last ordinary race, but it would seem like :ESP, :BRA , :DEN and :NZL are all within 2 points. That would mean that the first of the 4 in the medal race will win.

In Nacra still 7 (!) boats can win the gold.

Both Stipanović and Kljaković-Gašpić finished last in medal race. I don't wanna hear any other nation complaining in this thread, we are THE experts in this :p

      Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

      Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
