World Games 2025

Recommended Posts

It was my first time watching Wakesurfing, Freestyle Wakeboarding and Cable Wakeboarding. Really liked it, might consider watching it's world championships every year if not more.

Is there any streams for the other field in softball? :CAN takes on :TPE in the semifinals, and I assume they’re probably gonna prioritize the big one :JPN v. :USA on the World Games TV stream…

This is Bolivia's first ever World Games gold, correct? As well as only their second medal ever, I believe, after one earlier bronze. Such a shame Barrios got injured, they might have gone from 1 bronze ever to getting triple medals (triple gold not out of the question) here.

3-0 it remains going into the 7th.

And that is it now, 5-0.  One last chance for :TPE

And done!  :USA Gold.

And that seems to be it for the whole World Games Chengdu 2025!

Oh wow, the buzzer beater from a huge distance that brought Taiwan the beach korfball gold :hyper::hyper:

Although I feel like "That is a classic all-time sporting great moment, for any sport." might be slightly overstated by the commentator, 99,9% of Dutch people won't ever see this, I highly doubt that percentage will be much different outside of the world's main korfball country. The guy who made the winning shot being 'a national hero' now is probably also a slight overstatement :p

Too bad though, because it absolutely was, indeed, awesome.

2 bronzes at the end... Were hoping for more, but this was unusually extremely chaotic final

The Mixed relay finished 2nd but :CHN put a protest against our team Because while taking the motosurf out of the water before the relay excahnge our male leg, slipped and ended up with his feet in the water....

We were penalised for 30 seconds and dropped to 5th

But then out of nothing :POL send a protest against China for constant bad exchanges, which obviously nobody was controling as we started to be used for this week you know ... and the officials then were forced to penalize both  Chinese pairs lol and we somehow get back to the podium but only with a bit disappointing bronze...

The female part of the team Sara Žuborová was btw the youngest member of our World Games team at her 14 :)

In the Womens competiton she was well on her silver position she was occupying the whole week, just to fall into the water in the final  and finished 4th.

2 years older Emma Strculová at least won Bronze.

2 bronzes at the end... we were hoping for more, but yeah, that´s  sport, sometimes nice and sometimes cruel

It looks very much like the same medals table than last time with only China propelled to top spot (only 10th in 2022) and the USA dropping a bit.

Leaving these two countries aside, the ranking of :GER -> :UKR -> :ITA -> :FRA -> :HUN is exactly the same as it was in Birmingham
