McKinlaigh passed away at 26.

Mostly known as the horse with whom Gina Miles finally put West Coast on the US eventing map. Career highlight is individual silver from Beijing 2008.

Dujardin continues to be as arrogant as ever it seems.

Apparently, while in Amsterdam, she met the same steward who eliminated her at last year's European Championships. Only this time they hugged (as you do?). Not only that, but Dujardin also claims that the steward felt bad for eliminating her (for, you know, finding bloody spur marks on her horse). Yeah, I'm sure the steward felt TERRIBLE for doing her job, following the regulations and putting animal welfare first.

This is all a very convenient hearsay, ofc. But also very much in line with Dujardin's behaviour over the years...

Actually Nayel Nassar became very popular here in Egypt not because of his equestrian achievements but just because he got engaged to Bill Gates' daughter :d most of websites are talking about who's the Egyptian boy that stole bill gates' daughter heart

:NED Maikel van der Vleuten's Verdi has been retired.

This makes him the last medal-winning horse from London 2012 to be retired from top level competition.

At age of 65, :AUS Mary Hanna set the new Australian Grand Prix Freestyle record with 80.145%.

In doing so, she became the first rider, not only from Australia, but from the entire Southern hemisphere to break 80%. :cheer:

I've heard and read very little about her conduct, but I was often under the impression that after London, she was a snobish, rude person.

Yeah, you are spot on here. For that reason I have been pretty much avoiding all her interviews for years now, and I stumbled onto this one quite by accident. :d

I can remember another one from 2014. She had a total train wreck in Aachen, having made mistake after mistake after mistake. She still scored in mid 70s and finished 7th or something (lesser known rider would have scored 64% for such test). And then in the interview afterwards she said something like: "Nobody expected me to lose.":facepalm:

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
    • There was some initial disappointment at first, but got over it quite quickly.    Happy for  and I hope they can win a medal in LA with their MLB players there!
