I honestly didn't expect Canada to have even the slightest chance in this tournament. What happened to this team??

Canada is well prepared like Belgium (they are in good shape, teams from VNL missed this - U.S and Poland plays level down volleyball compare to this time, Japan is lost in this group).

Well… not only that, but they have seemed to improve in just about every statistical category (aces/blocks/attacks/digs). Sammelvuo doing wonders to this team. 
 

Yes, they played poorly during VNL but  that’s partly due to the fact that Sammelvuo didn’t have much time beforehand with the team, having his first training session with the team only 10 days prior. (right after the club season ended for ZASKA Kędzierzyn-Koźle)

Sad that Canada couldn’t win, but happy that they got a point. Wasn’t expecting us to defeat Poland anyways though.

 

Semeniuk and Bednorz easily the two best players on the court today

Happy Canada got a point, but still soooooo close!  They can't get complacent now, they still have to win the rest of their matches.
