Nordic Combined has a bit declined in past years. Roman Perko will most likely remain athlete with best Slovenian performance in history of WCH for quite a while. He came in 5th in Trondheim 1997. But we do have Ema Volavšek, who ended last season premiere World Cup overall in 3rd place.

Both Ema and Silva have declined this season. Considering Janus is their coach I find it funny that they both declined in ski jumping. Ema is still somewhat decent at xc, but Silva is just poor. She was poor last season and I didn't think she could have been worse this year, but she managed to do it. If Ema somehow finishes in top 6, I will be happy. Any higher would be a surprise. As for men, Gašper is the only one who can realistically finish within top 30. But his recent jumping form was terrible. And he needs a good jump like Sahara needs water.

As you said, top 6 is realistic goal for Ema, Gašper Brecl could end up in top 20 with better jump, because of "4 athletes per nation" limit.

I have some hopes for Mixed event, because they were quite good in World Cup, so even here top 6 is possible.

Who would have thought that maybe first top 10 or even top 6 finish for home team would come in Nordic Combined.

At least so I hope, Ema Volavšek needs a top 10 jump and then good ski wax.

31 starters from 11 different countries in Women NC is still a cool number, considering IOC refuse to make it to the Olympics

Great jumping part from our girls, top 6 is quite possible for Ema, which would be great after her back problems, that is why she has troubles this season. 15 year old Teja Pavec also very well, though I know she will lose some time on course.

Before Westvold-Hansen jump the top 5 are within 12 seconds and Top 13 within a minute. It looks more like a mass start than Gundersen for the cross-country part :p
