OFC Nations Cup is begun in Papua New Guinea today, with group B matches New Zealand and Solomon Islands won. Tomorrow reigning OFC Nations Cup champions Tahiti will begin their title defence against Samoa while tournament hosts Papua New Guinea face New Caledonia.

 

The top two teams of each group will also advance to the knockout stage (semi-finals and final) to decide the 2016 OFC Nations Cup winner which will play in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

 

The group stage round will be also valid for the Fifa World Cup Oceania qualifyin, the top three teams of each group will advance to the third round of Oceania WCQ
