Very surprsing result in women's 200 back. I was sure before the start of the competition that bronze would go to White or maybe Masse, but the chinese won a very surprising bronze. At least her time was decent, but normally there should be multiple american women who can go faster than 2:06.7.

Sjöström is one of the most sweet and enjoyable swimmers out there, but to be fair Phelps competed at only 6 WC (and practically 5, since he did only 1 discipline in 2001 at 15), while this is Sarah's 8th WC. Doesn't take the fact, that she is one of the greatest female swimmers ever.

Of course and she is also behind in number of golds. Sarah however was the same age at her first, but she took a gold. However what is disturbing for her when comparing historically is her olympic merits. 1 olympic gold and 3 other medals must be considered as very "bad" considering 11 world long course golds and world record in 4 LC distances

Regan Smith coming across as a bit of a sore loser, seemingly refusing to acknowledge the existence of McKeown after the final. Hopefully that's only how it seems and in reality it was a little different.

except for the first 2, it was a really average race

 

even Panziera's Italian record is 1.2 secs faster than today's bronze medal clocking
