Expected. Half of this players played for first time for senior national team this year and they are very inexperienced. But they were really good (except first weekend :d).

Portuguese fans really impressed me, I didn't expect such level of interest in the tournament in:wPOR:

Average attendance so far: 3,485 spectators per match. In any other sport, this would be considered a disaster, but something tells me that after the competition Ary Graca will step up to announce a great success and  talk about what an amazing tournament it was. How are they not capable to capitalize on the popularity of volleyball, one of the few sports that can actually be played on any continent or island in the world, and doesn't require any special equipment or skills to start playing is beyond me.

Something hilarious: FIVB announced that Iran is the 1st team qualified for the final 6 but they actually are NOT qualified yet. FIVB is wrong.

Today Iran played France with almost all substitutes and lost 3-0  someone tell them before it's too late.

It took them a long time, for various reasons, but :SLO finally managed to secure their spot in the elite :d They did that by defeating :CUB 3-0 in yesterday's final of Challenger Cup, which means they'll play VNL in 2020.

    • Many things, probably they thought it is already over and the win will come itself... but also Nitra improved their play a lot, they outplayed us in physicality in the last 2 games, they won almost every duel. Was hard to watch. Anyway I am still persuated we will finish the job at home with success on Tuesday
    • If you look at their results this season and on the Super Series, it’s not really that surprising.    I’d consider them to be medal contenders.
    • At one point it seemed we were making good progress in this sport, but in the past 1-2 years things seem to have hit a standstill..   Ivaylo Ivanov is still our only elite judoka, but he is passing 30. There were/are some promising youngsters, but they haven't been able to make a jump to the senior level. At this Euro we barely had any first round wins (not including Ivanov). In fencing and taekwondo the results are much more visible for us.
    • yes, but that's only an (important) episode... I mean, what's up with your team more in general...it looks like they got the classic "fear to win", they're not as brilliant as they were in the early games of the series
    • after a few leagues ended well before the true climax, now we have both leagues from the good, old Czechoslovakia going to game #7    shame that both games will be at the exact same time

    • what a missed chance for     but Giorgia Stangherlin first and Asya Tavano then (in the playoff match, having clearly won the "regular" match against the same opponent) wasted the biggest occasion we ever had in this kind of competition   moreover, in the final match of the "regular 6", Veronica Toniolo got a serious knee injury against Eteri Liparteliani (the match was into the golden score period): she was carted off on a stretcher, screaming in pain
