If I’m not mistaken, @KingOfTheRhinos is now the host of the 2019 TAISC (the spring one) unless he wishes to turn down hosting, which would trigger the open bidding process.

TISC Annual 2020 Announcement

So with the Netherlands stepping down from hosting duties in order to focus on TISC Open 2020 preparations, and with Australia having already ruled themselves out of hosting......

Nah, too busy with school to host. If I win next year then I'll definitely host.

......it means that all top 3 finishers at TISC Annual 2019 have declined hosting rights.

What this means is that we are now looking for a new host of the upcoming TISC Annual edition to be held in the early months of 2020. We are officially open to bids and all interested parties are invited to submit a formal application (or just right a message here on the thread to say they are interested :p).

In order to remind ourselves of the process of finding a new host, please see Section 9, rule (c) below:

9. (c) In the event that the hosting rights are declined by the top 3 ranked nations at the previous edition of the relevant TISC, an open bid process will be conducted in order to award the hosting rights. This process will be open to all candidates, first-time hosts as well as previous hosts.

A random draw will take place with each candidate being awarded a number of tickets in the draw. The more tickets a candidate has entered, the better their chance of being selected as host. Here is the process for how the tickets will be distributed:

Each candidate automatically awarded 1 ticket each in the draw. However, additional tickets awarded as follows

- did not host in the previous 5 editions (+1 additional ticket)

- did not host in the previous 10 editions (+1 additional ticket)

- did not host previously (+2 additional tickets)

- took part in the previous bidding process (+1 additional ticket). For first-time hosts, they will add an additional ticket for each edition they are unsuccessful for in bidding, thus increasing their chance slightly with each unsuccessful bid. This increase will only be available for first-time hosts. Additionally, if a first-time host missed 2 consecutive bidding campaigns, then their tickets no longer carry forward and they lose those additional tickets.

So let's take a look at how this might work using the different scenarios......

  • Denmark bids to host - hosted within the previous 5 editions (1 ticket)
  • Lithuania bids to host - hosted within the previous 10 editions (2 tickets)
  • Serbia bids to host - did not host within the previous 10 editions (3 tickets)
  • Poland bids to host - did not host previously, did not take part in the previous bidding process (5 tickets)
  • Croatia bids to host - did not host previously, took part in the previous bidding process - (6 tickets)
  • Algeria bids to host - did not host previously, took part in the previous bidding process - (6 tickets)

The deadline to receive bids will close 2 weeks from now on Friday, 29th November at 21:00 GMT. We welcome all bids and good luck to all interested parties :hatoff:

Provisional list of TISC Annual 2020 Bid Candidates:

Nation Number of Tickets in the draw
  :ALG  ALGERIA 7
  :CRO  CROATIA 7
  :USA  UNITED STATES 1
