:ITA2 - 2 :FIN  wasn't the start expected ..... however we need win the next two match for a direct qualifying at WC

today :BLR vs :ITA

In Africa Cup of Nation the host and title holder :MAR is the first semifinalist (won 8-1 :GEQ)

The notice is a withdrawal of Mauritius from the Cup, after decision been ordered home by the country’s Prime Minister.

Following the decision, all matches involving Mauritius are canceled leaving Group A with three teams Morocco, Equatorial Guinea and Libya.

Meanwhile, the CAF Organising Committee will decide on the standings of the group in due time.

Mauritius joined the Cup as replacement following the withdrawal of South Africa a political decision, after Morocco insisted on hosting the tournament in Laayoune which is in disputed Western Sahara.

I’m sorry, what? Every nation should be withdrawing, or they face steep punishment from the African Union. Morocco should be punished by FIFA.

interesting results in Europe. Italy sometimes struggles against lower European teams, Belarus is also a good team, even play-off berth is not guaranteed for Italy.

and in group 3, Russia now needs to beat  Croatia by 2 goals to qualify. Azer-brazil-jan also still has a chance for playoffs, but they have to beat Slovakia first. there are also 2 Iranian players in their squad :d it was 4 in the previous round

btw I really think Europe should have more quotas, 8 or 9 at least.

If CAF sanctions them, AU (African Union) may ban all countries from participating in CAF events. That would be interesting to witness...

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
