ugh, what a luger....

Cant blame him...  would assume its a funding problem. With lugers expected to shell out thousands of dollars to just compete.

Sad really.

They'll be fine. This world cup stop doesn't count for Olympic Rankings and there's a surplus of Olympic quotas meaning every country that completes on the world cup should qualify at least one sled.

Career best finish for Podulsky/Allan in women’s doubles at the Winterberg WC with a 5th!

And now a 6th place finish for them at the Park City WC! Wow

Seeing that Canada only entered athletes in women's singles at this weeks World cup. Anyone know what's up with that?

Are the Canadian women`s double planning to compete at the Olympics? Looking at the World Cup competitions, they have good results? This is important because the absence of Canada or China means the entry of a second German double... I'm interested in this, because no one in Italy wants two German women doubles:lol:

Two, if Canada loses the QO in the men's single (almost certain for today), will they unable to field a team? Or is it possible that if Canada and China are both miss of a QO in the men's single, the IOC will allow them to add the missing member so they can field a team? With the absence of Canadian and Chinese teams, only eight teams will compete in the team- relay.

    • At the beginning, she was considering a helicopter transfer within that day as 3 companies offered her that option. But later, she did not give a clear answer but said that she will compete PGS. Some information still seem to be a bit unclear, but some information does not want to released to public. I am not so sure. But what actually happens, we have to wait for that certain day
    • Yes, they also wrote about It months ago on the olympics website: https://www.olympics.com/en/news/ester-ledecka-chooses-snowboard-over-alpine-downhill-milano-cortina-2026
    • Not really. Maybe you heard it wrong. She decided to give up downhill and will focus on snowboarding parallel Giant slalom. After that, she should participate in Super G and Team Combined.    Btw, maybe, but really maybe, she may take part in one downhill training which is a condition in order to participate in downhill race. Why am saying that is the fact that if the downhill will be postponed to another day due to weather conditions, she would go for the downhill race as well.
    • Actually it was announced some time ago she will do the Snowboarding PGS on Day 2 and then the Alpine Super-G on Day 6 (+ still in discussion process the start in the Alpine Combined Teams on Day 4)
    • Apparently she changed her mind
    • didn't Ledecka said that she's going to choose alpine skiing in Cortina rather than snowboard in Livigno at the Games?    if yes, why make this race Today?   or she did make up her mind and decided to go for the safe gold in PGS?
