Good result for Germany on the mens side, kind of makes up for the catastrophic results in mens snowboard cross and womens ski cross.

On the womens side pretty disappointing result for Germany.

Loginov won some medals in the WC circuit (and he won in Austria)

Global Event = World Champs/Olympic Games

I know he's been on the podium a few times in the World Cup...but it's not the same thing...;)

Germany won Gold and you say that's "pretty disappointing"? what did you expect, a clean sweep? :mumble:

Undeniably a great result for Germany, Joerg clearly the best from Q to Final. Also, places 7 and 10. It's the WC and other countries can race, too :D

Expected 2 medals. Last year Germany won 2 medals despite Ledecky not being absent. You of all people should understand, you basically call every fencing event where Italy doesnt win gold disappointing. Compared to this expecting 2 medals here was pretty humble in my opinion.

I just wanted to write that the name of the bronze medallist is "Jenny Ladina" and not "Ladina Jenny", but apparently her first name really is Ladina ... ? :mumble:

The course had a lot of issues, but it’s the one event that has no presence here in the US, so what can you do. As for the weather...Park City is expecting 4+ feet of snow this week.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
