Ugh, another 1-6 for Russia. This time in the women’s 7.5km sprint. I remember when Biathlon used to be exciting. Hopefully the World Championships are more competitive. Even then it’s been a pretty dominate season for some...

Apparently it’s the first time since 1999 that the women’s 7.5km Sprint has been swept. It was Slovakia who swept it in 1999 @hckosice

Yep we had the strongest Slovak Biathon generation ever competing there. Martina Halinárová (Jašicová then Schwarzbacherová then again Jašicová and now Halinárová), Martina Paukovčeková, Soňa Mihoková and Anna Murínová (nowadays Fialková sisters coach) were on their way for a certain and "easy" Olympic gold in Nagano but Paukovčeková missed up totally the 3rd leg standing shooting and f...d up our big lead,we finished 4th. remember 3 girls finished in 1998 Nagano Sprint top 10.

Hopefully we will have such generation one day again

Australian in cross country. YES!

Real talk though, Australia’s cross country program is honestly respectable right now. There’s some talent amongst their ranks
