Welcome to the Greek club!

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

as promised, here is the "club" where all the Greek users can discuss about all sports with fellow Greek users. Ideally, the club will take the place of the Greece National Thread, so that you can have more threads and also sub-sections.

I will now invite here all the Greek users, once you join the club you will see the link of the club in the navigation bar and at the top of each page.

Two important things

1) I need one user who will be the "owner" of the club. It is not a big thing and no time commitment is required, you will just take decisions like which sections and threads to have, translate the sections' descriptions etc. Who wants to do that?

2) Club's name: You can talk here or open a poll about the name and once you have decided it I will change the name of the club. In the while, I have named it with a neutral "Team Greece".

Let's make this club active in the next weeks when the first qualification events for Paris 2024 will start!

Also adding @El Greco 21 although it seems that he has not been active for quite some time.

And does this mean our national thread will be moved here?

EDIT-Never mind, I now see that that question was already answered.

Not really "moved", the national thread will remain there but as a sort of "archive", you can now use this section for all your posts.

Do you wanna be the club's owner, so you can translate the sections in Greek language and create new sections if necessary?

Thanks!

You said it is not a big time commitment so I can probably do it for sure, my only issue is I do not have a Greek keyboard on my computer so it is annoying to type in Greek letters for me

Though I suppose I can do it from my phone which has a Greek keyboard.

So maybe @maestro or @Ted wants to step in for this role? ;)

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.
    • GSOC HearingLife Tour Challenge Semifinals  Women  Team Fujisawa v.  Team Einarson  Team Lawes v.  Team Homan   Men  Team Mouat v.  Team McEwen  Team Dunstone v.  Team Gushue
    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)
    • World Junior Championships ( Dushanbe)   Day #4 Medallists   women's -78kg Gold:  Brenda Olaya Silver:  Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer Bronze:  Eva Ronja Buddenkotte &  Dandara Camilo   women's +78kg Gold:  Lee Hyeon Ji Silver:  Celia Cancan Bronze:  Chihiro Yamaguchi &  Safa Soliman   men's -100kg Gold:  Mukhammadsodik Sodikov Silver:  Nozomu Miki Bronze:  Azhdar Baghirov &  Fares Mekhoukh   men's +100kg Gold:  Denis Batchaev Silver:  Kanan Nasibov Bronze:  Saba Kardava &  Ibrahim Tataroglu
    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
