Three medal day at the Alleghe ski cross WC, with Reece Howden winning gold on the men’s side, and Marielle Thompson and Brittany Phelan winning gold and silver on the women’s side

Mind you there were only eleven athletes racing, but Marielle Thompson and Brittany Phelan won ski cross gold and silver at the Bakuriani WC!

Round two was today. Reece Howden and Jared Schmidt surprisingly didn’t make it out of qualification a couple of days ago due to tough weather conditions (finished last and dead last) but Thompson won her second consecutive gold medal! Unfortunately, I don’t value any medals on the women’s side right now, literally half of the field is injured.

  • 3 weeks later...

Mikael Kingsbury with his 88th career WC victory at the Almaty WC! 10.00 points shy of the men’s moguls Crystal Globe though unfortunately.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
