That score would have gotten Rylan Wiens 4th at the Olympics, similarly Margo Erlam's performance in the women's 3m would have won silver. Tanesha Lucoe's performance in the women's 10m would've placed her 7th. Of course, comparing scores between competitions (especially national competitions) isn't the best, but it does show our diving team is still strong. Now we just need someone in the men's 3m...

I really hope our diving team gets a tad more consistent that’s really cost them in the past.

Canada won nine medals at Futures Cup last weekend.

 

The Canadians swept the podium in the men’s 10 m event. Blainville’s Benjamin Tessier earned himself the gold with a score of 500.35. Rylan Wiens, of Saskatoon, finished second overall with 453.54, just ahead of Matt Cullen (439.30), of Rosemere.  

 

So that is three men over 500 points in the 10m individual event in the last year

 

Matt Cullen and Benjamin Tessier then earned silver in the synchronized event, thanks to a score of 406.92, which is higher than the score Vincent Riendeau and Nathan Zsombor-Murray had at the 2020 Olympics.

 

Mia Vallée triumphed in the women’s 3 m event. The Kirkland native totalled 345.80 points, a personal record. This would have been a bronze medal performance in Tokyo!. Alberta’s Margo Erlam, the defending Canadian champion in this event, took home bronze with 309.40 points. 

 

Vallée and Erlam also teamed up for the 3 m synchro event, where they won gold with a score of 305.70., would have been bronze in Tokyo.

Canadian nationals just finished! The men's 10m is stacked. The top 4 all would have placed in the top 6 in Tokyo.

 

Based on results here is the team I think for Commonwealth Games, Not sure if they will compete in the 1m

 

Men 1/3m: Cedric Fofana and Bryden Hattie

Men 10m: Benjamin Tessier, Matt Cullen, Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray

 

Women 1/3m: Mia Vallee, and Margo Elam (Pamela Ware finished third behind these two in both events)

 

Women 10m: Caelie McKay and Renee Batalla (surprise winner of the 10m individual).

2023 Pan-Am Diving Qualifying Championship: Feb 24-26, 2023 | León, Mexico :MEX

 

Cedric Fofana wins bronze in men’s 1m springboard (337.95). Mexico win gold and silver via Kevin Alexander Muñoz (379.40) and Yolotl Martinez Cabral (356.15)

Éloïse Bélanger wins gold in women’s 10m platform (275.70), while Reneé Batalla made it a double-podium for the Canadians (265.15) with a silver medal. Ainsley Garcia Navarro of Cuba wins bronze (261.50)

Margo Erlam finishes 4th in women’s 1m springboard. Mexico go 1-2 with Paola Pineda (270.95) and Arantxa Elizabeth Chavez (260.05). Cuba’s Prisis Leidys Ruid Randich completes the podium with a bronze (253.15).

    • Yesterday's results: Group I:  VS  37 -26 easy win for  against one of the weakest versions of    VS  18- 25 another great results for  the black horse of this tournament,  is the most improved team and had a great potential, they are still far from the top 8-10 teams but handball can get a great boost if they build on this tournament results.  VS  40-30 one side game for the best team by far.  is unstoppable, they dominate the game from the beginning till the end secured a place in quarter final (unofficially).   Group II:  VS  29 -29 a thriller game till the end. the match was going goal by goal till minute 58:45 when  got a penalty (result was 28-28), Kaiper the  GK became the hero when he saved it and allowed his team mate to convert the next attack and let  leading the game with only 6 seconds to go. after  time out, Kuzmanoviski shot from 15 m in the middle of the goal which deflected from Kaiper hand securing a deserved draw between the two teams.   VS  37-38, another thriller game with a lot of goals. the game leading was between both teams during the game, the last two minutes the score was 2 goals for the Dutch team until the refs interfere allowing  to draw and it all hinges on a foul on the 9 m with 3 seconds to goal. Versteijnen shot it on goal with a great buzzer-beater and had been confirmed as a goal by video referee in a great win for    VS   30-37, easy win for  who dominated the game from beginning and similar to  they secured their spot in the QF (unofficially).  will need to beat  and  to qualify to the QF in a very complicated group.   Group standing: Group I:    6 PTS  4 PTS 4 PTS   3 PTS  1 PTS  0 PTS   Group II    6 PTS  4 PTS  3 PTS  3 PTS  2 PTS  0 PTS
