after a promising GP result in Cali, back to the usual disaster for Italy in the Epee competitions...

no girls in the top 8 in Dubai and also no men in the top 8 in Paris (that tournament is still running, with the round of 16 still to be completed, but all of our guys are already out)...:wall:

Epée is clearly the weakest category for italian fencing (except, of course, Mara Navarria). Don't worry, your foil fencers will revenge your epeists :d:d:d

We are seeing emerging countries (like Hongkong) in fencing, and fencing is a more exciting sport so... I really think it's a good thing.

Good afternoon italian friend.

:)

@phelps Are you gonna post the men's updates today as well? Then I know I'll just stop searching and wait :p

here I am...the tournament has just finished, so I'm gonna post the final results in a few minutes...;)

I can tell you that Tristan Tulen had another good day, even if not as good as in Cali...he lost 11-10 to the Russian Glazkov in the round of #16...

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
