Judo Canada Paris 2024 Selection Policy: JUD_P24_INP_Final_Sept_24.pdf (judocanada.org)

The rule in case if two or more athletes are allocated a quota place (like u57kg with Klimkait // Deguchi)

For now, Klimkait have 3 points vs 0 for Deguchi

If Klimkait have a better result than Deguchi in Doha World Championship, is not good news for Deguchi ...

Why Deguchi stays in -57kg ... she makes a big mistake, again

52 is blocked by her sister and 63 by CBP. Where else could she realistically go?

63kg is just as tough while her sister is in 52kg, she doesn't really have many options.

Be serious for a moment, 52 is not really locked by Kelly, because she may not qualify if continues at this pace, and Christa would have more chance to qualify directly ...

  • 5 months later...

Jessica Klimkait (-57kg) wins a bronze medal on Day 1 of the 2023 Grand Slam in Tbilisi, Georgia  :GEO defeating current world champion Rafaela Silva (BRA) 10-0. In the semi-finals she lost to Nora Gjakova (KOS) 10-0.

Antoine Bouchard (-73kg) loses his first round match against Kote Kopanadze (GEO) 10-0.

Francois Gauthier Drapeau (-81kg) loses his second round match 11-0 against Askerbii Gerberkov (BRN), after getting a bye initially. Gauthier Drapeau was the number one seeded judoka in his weight category, so I’m sure he’ll be a bit disappointed with this result.

Mohab El Nahas (-81kg) loses his second round match against Abylaikhan Zhubanazar (KAZ) 11-0, after getting a bye initially.
