The arming up of Ukraine and the sanctions will most likely cause a never ending stalemate, which is a form of peace. It is what it is, it's still a far better outcome for Ukraine and for their people than a Russian occupation of their entire territory or a puppet government, which was clearly the goal of Putin and he failed (for now). The only thing Putin has achieved with this mess is the total isolation of his country, nothing more.

But sadly there are too many people who will just believe anything that Putin can gobble up. Because, you know, storms tend to sink warships in wartimes, but apparently never at peacetimes.
