Water Polo 2022 - 2024 Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Today we were 5 down against Hungary but Spain managed to equalize and eventually win on penalties. Tomorrow we have the final against the Netherlands.

This is quite impresive considering that we are missing 2 key players (Roser Tarragó and Maica García).

As usual the biggest crapshoot that is the water polo prediction contest. It will be a miracle if I don't finish last. Any chance of a 30+ goal difference games? :p

The Colombian and Thai women's teams won't be super competitive

It's Greece vs USA in the final, we already beat them 15-14 in the group stage. Whoever wins will be the first country to ever win this tournament twice (we won the inaugural tournament in 2012).

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
