Chinese player Shi Yuqi accepts the WCH invitation and Chen Long rejects it. Chinese badminton association lifted the internal suspension of Shi Yuqi thanks to his "good behavior" and "good attitude". My own interpretation of this late acception and rejection swap is because that Chen Long is going to retire soon and giving up the unexpectedly postponed Asian Games at home. With the disappointment of recent men's single tournament's result and to avoid the humiliation on WCH, Chinese association ultimately decides to lift Shu Yuqi's suspension.

Good news for his fans, some hardcore Yuqi fan that I know online even had started a countdown timer for his comeback.

Would be interesting to see his play after long absence

So the Olympic silver medallists Chinese were actually a pair of fuckin cheaters. A much harsher ban should have been imposed and much earlier. They shouldn't have been allowed to participate in Olympics at all last year!

2 time Olympic champion Zhang Nan announced withdrawal from Chinese national team and turning a professional athlete. My guessing is that Zhang Nan rejected NT’s offer to become a coach and want to cash out his commercial value. Good luck to our only mixed and men’s OG champion.

Too happy to see Shi Yuqi's coming back by defeating Lee Zii Jia in the Denmark Open Final. To be honest, I don't see much potential or hope on other Chinese Men's Single players, at least for now.

HSBC BWF World Tour Finals- Bangkok, Thailand

Reining Olympic Champion Demark’s Viktor Axelsen defeats Japan’s Koidai Naraoka 2-0 (21-5, 21-15), to secure himself a spot in the semi-finals. He previously defeated China’s Lu Guangzu 2-0 (21-13, 21-11)

Edit: He’s also the reining BWF World Tour Finals Champion, and reining BWF World Champion.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
