WOAH, first good news in these championships for team Lithuania. Eglė Balčiūnaitė has really had a difficult season, filled with injuries and such, but she managed to take 2 seconds off her SB and qualified to the semi-final

That was my point indeed. Not saying it's a logical choice they made (it really isn't), but it is the choice they made, hence the high score in the forecast.

Gudzius hit it to 64.30 meters in his last attempt, Q

I don't think that Gudžius had a shorter throw than 64 metres this year at all, in the 15-16 competitions that he's entered. This is definitely pretty sad
