I thought :SWE might have rejected their quotas (thus helping explain how :SVK and :IRL got reallocated one each), but the Swedish NOC confirmed they accepted the Kohalas’ quotas today based on the future prospect criteria.

Damn, FIL is quick. :surprise: I assume the quota came from GB.

Not from GB as BOA have confirmed Rupert Staudinger’s quota

btw its amazing to realize that only 4!! countries have won golds in this sport at the Olympics (all versions of Germany = 1). Just wow.

Even better stat: only one athlete that doesn't speak German as their first language has ever won luge gold at the Olympics (Vera Zozulya).

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
