Given the anger and controversy Parrot's win over Su in slopestyle caused I really don't see that happening.

I'm kind of annoyed at this controversy.  McMorris laid down the best run of the day, and in the end the medals for countries worked out.  Su missed half the rail section and wasn't clean on his first two jumps.  He landed a massive last jump, but that's like 1/6 of the total score even though it's often the biggest.  Him getting gold would have been a joke given the rest of his run.

I can't believe the snowboard programme is done already.  It feels like it was a bit rushed, especially having both big air finals on the same day.  Good (not great) Games for Canada in snowboard, and lots of exciting competitions from everyone.  Very enjoyable to watch.

Some medal related stats, now that snowboarding becomes the 4th sport to conclude (after luge, skeleton and ski jumping):

  • :USA extends it's lead atop the all time medal table to nine gold medals more than second place :SUI in terms of golds and 18 medals over second place :CAN in terms of total medals.
  • :SUI, the second best nation all time in snowboarding, wins only one bronze medal.
  • :CAN and :AUT both move ahead of :FRA, who was previously third, in the all time medal table.
  • :CHN, :JPN and :NZL all win their first ever gold medal in the sport.
  • Four continents have now won gold medals in snowboarding. Freestyle skiing and short track are the only other winter sport with that distinction.
  • Snowboarding is also now the only winter sport where more four different continents have two or more countries that have won at least one gold medal.
  • :NOR now has four silver medals, the most silver medals a country has ever won in snowboarding without winning gold.

:CAN sucks so much at these Olympics that the two best jumps from the nine jumps from out three finalists in this event still wouldn't beat :CHN Su xD

To be brutally honest. Apart from halfpipe I find mens Snowboarding in general very boring. I guess the progression is to just do the most spins. No real flair or realness.

This is all very interesting because many say snowboarding and freestyle are North American sports, but they're actually the most diverse in terms of medal winners.  Much more diverse than the various nordic events.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
    • Ya but the replacement is Pat Bondi, a choice that is only better in so far as Pat Bondi isn't credibly accused of having had sex with multiple underaged girls.   Also, you might recognize this name: Pete Hoekstra has been nominated to be the US ambasador to Canada.
    • Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig
    • Skeleton Tour moves on to Yanqing  this weekend.  Asian Cup races tomorrow, then the World Cup on Saturday, and then possibly more Asian Cup next weekend before everyone moves over to Altenberg for the start of the full Skeleton / Bobsleigh tour again.
    • 2-1.   But it's good to have a great champion in the squad. I've been waiting for this my whole life. I wish we had such stars in every sport.
    • But he beat Mouat, who seems to be almost unbeatable
    • Argentina has a really solid lineup, especially if they have prepared seriously for this event. Of course they don't have a champion like we do, but in this format it is enough to win 1 match to play the decisive doubles.
    • Today we must to beat Argentina. It looks like Sinner will have to win all the singles and doubles for us to defend the title. So far, the 2nd and 3rd favorites before the tournament have already been eliminated: Esp and USA.
