According to the wiki list Nagal would have to wait for the reallocation process (57th is the reallocated host spot) so saying that he is an alternate makes good sense.

Good point.  The 57th spot itself is technically one out.

Also there is the prospect of Raonic, who said he wanted to go to the Olympics but has not confirmed it, O'Connell that wiki lists as not eligible, Djere who seems to have indicated he is not going, Cilic who could use PR but with the recent surgery that seems really unlikely.  Too many moving parts to be certain of the final few qualifiers.

When can we expect an official list to be announced by ITA ?

So the official timeline is here: https://stillmed.olympics.com/media/Documents/Olympic-Games/Paris-2024/Paris2024-QS-Tennis.pdf but not on that document is the fact that the ITF has said that they will publish a full list on July 4th here: https://www.itftennis.com/en/events/olympics-paris-2024/entry-list/

ITF confirmed :UKR singles to our NOC

Kostiuk, Svitolina, Yastremska, Kalinina.

Pairs are to be confirmed: 1 or 2.

Do you remember that tennis player from Ukraine - Medvediev, who lost in the final of the French Open in 1999 vs Agassi? The Ukrainian then led 2-0 in sets and lost 2-3. Do you know what's happening to him now?

He failed the opportunity of his life and Agassi won Roland Garros for the first time in his career. Sampras never managed to do this.

He took part in Orange revolution in 2004. Than he was involved in car accident in 2011.

He is acoach at a tennis club (may be of his own, I do not know exaclty).

    • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.
