I can't explain how devastating the results are for :CZE 😞😞😞. This was the last chance for Vít Prindis to go to the Olympics at least once in a life. In the women's final, the disqualification for Czech was really on the edge. Can't say whether the disqualification is 100% correct or not but really devastating for the Czech team for no earning any quota 😭😭😭

She'll get the quota as GB aren't taking it.

Are you certain about it? Why GB would refuse the quota?

I don’t know why they would refuse, but the commentator mentionned it, and I checked on their website and it said we are going for a second mens quota for today but didn’t mention a womens, presumably because our C1 male won’t do the extreme event. Setchell could certainly medal though so it is a bit strange.

:ITA qualified 4 athletes: MK1, WK1, MC1 e WC1: how many of them could start in MX1 and in WX1? One or two?

You may enter 2 athletes into kayak cross. So for example, if you have a quota in MK1 and MC1, both can participate on kayak cross. If you get the extra quota, it may mean you have second specialist in kayak. But then either the athlete who got MK1 or MC1 won't participate in kayak cross.  Unfortunately you cannot enter 3 athletes.

So according to the British Team, they have decided that both who got the K1 and C1 in womens events will also participate in kayak cross? That's why they may probably refuse the quota?

Probably, but I can't see why we can't take all 3.

Apparently GB are not going to take the quota, according to the commentators, anyone know why?

They already announced Mallory and Kimberly for the WKX, but only Joe for the MKX. Burgess doesn't want to do it, though he could do so - this was the chance to get a XC specialist in for the men.

Kimbereley absolutely guaranteed to do XC - there may be a calculation/conversation on whether mallory wants to step back - my money would be on absolutely not.

    • I’ve only seen things related to the father of this current president. And not even much of that, everything had the face of the new one now.   but of course, I saw only what I was allowed to see , that is how things work if you want to visit it :-)
    • I wonder if there are any monuments to their first leader, who died in 2006, or has the latter taken over everything?
    • now the leader is not that one, but his son (you’ll see him in one of the photos I shared, in the tv. His face is everywhere as it happens in any country with cult of the leader).   and yes the story is true, in Ashgabat only white, golden and some other colour (grey?) cars are allowed in the city. Just like every building is white.   And it’s funny you mention the talibans, because Turkmenistan has an Afghanistan representation/consulate in their country, and one of the days when we were eating lunch in a mall at Mary city, the Turkmen guide was called by the restaurant waiter and then came to us and said “ok so don’t worry, but a taliban delegation is coming here to eat lunch so don’t take pictures and behave discreetly when they enter”.   One of those wtf moments of our trip haha
    • I agree, but having 2 (in 2016) or 4 weight categories wont help the noble cause. Why UWW limited this WC to only non olympic wrestlers? Why only 4 weights?  And so on. I saw some great bouts but they were overshadowed by these facts. At least IMO.

    • A few years ago I read a crazy story about this president-dictator from Turkmenistan, who banning white or dark cars from being imported to Turkmenistan (I don't remember which ones). This is a country of absurdities. After the fall of the USSR, a dictator- Turkmenbascha, who ruled there for many years and died about 15 years ago and his health minister replaced him and has ruled ever since. Both are madmen. Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan are more civilized and don't have such weirdos in power. It's probably only the Taliban that are more radical.

    • This is the World Senior Championship final, not a high school match   and this kid is under 20 (won the world U20 this year) and destroyed everybody (including  Olympic Champ Uguev and World Champ Arujau) in his senior debut.   injuries and lack of motivation play a big role, but if this kid stays healthy and motivated, I don't think anybody beats him in next 10 years. he is lightening fast, his gut-wrench is deadly and he can throw at will. that's the complete package.   not sure what Olympic weight he picks. Japan has the current Olympic Champion in both 57kg and 65kg.   I think it's fair to say Japan is currently the best men's freestyle team in the world. (despite being weak in heavier weights)
