Am I the only one noticing some similarities with the Rio opening ceremony? Especially regarding the design and overall elements (like the stage with singers/dancers/climbers at one side and the place where the flag will be raised at the other)?

 

Anyway, even with some technical issues (lighting and the projection of the images could be better) they're doing a good enough job.

Well, the schedule of these Games is very "tight", so I guess some athletes had to skip the ceremony.

I don't really know any of those songs, but I guess they picked a different song for/coming from each of those nations entering the stadium?

      There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

      I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.

      Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
