I guess May will be the starting month, then? (except for qualification for qualifying tournaments)

Meaning a couple of "Olympics free" months :p

If Wikipedia is to be trusted, it will start in April with women's Copa America in Football: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics

Summer Olympic Games 2020 Qualification Systems

World Rowing Federation has published their most recent draft: http://www.worldrowing.com/mm//Document/General/General/12/92/14/2020OQSCouncilLatestDraft020917F_Neutral.pdf

It isn't finalized yet, but they explained their decisions step by step. And they have included a chart how many boats will qualify at which competition, should the draft be used.

And, most importantly, it's not mentioned in any of the qualification systems or in Memo.

It is mentioned in the qualification systems. It's mentioned underReallocation of Team Quote Places: http://inside.fei.org/system/files/JUMPING Tokyo 2020 - Qualification System_7 August 2017.pdf

The speicific details for the Volleyball qualification seem to be known as well. According to Worldofvolley, all qualifications tournaments are already in 2019 and the order has changed: http://www.worldofvolley.com/News/Latest_news/FIVB/89336/fivb-changes-qualification-system-for-the-olympic-games-continental-championships-gain-importance-.html

- First tournament is the World Qualification tournament, which is similar to the World Cup. It takes place in early 2019.

- Second tournament is the International Qualification tournament, with the twelve best teams in the World Ranking not yet qualified. It's in summer 2019.

- The third tournament are the Continental Championships in 2019. So there seems to be no longer an additional continental tournament in the beginning of the Olympic year.

Olympic qualification for wrestling:

2019 WCH 6 best ringers per weight

plus 8 from coninental qualification

plus 2 from final world qualification

Thanks for the info. :)

By the way, do you have a source? It's not that I don't believe you, it's especially because the source might be updated with more informations later, like when the qualifications take place and that stuff.

and in Germany (where public broadcasters ARD/ZDF definitively called themselves out from the competition) they already announced their program for Pyeongchang 2018...

in GER they will show the 2018 games on 2 of their FTA channels + the 2 Eurosport paid channels + the Eusp360 service...which is always a perfect coverage, but it's still a mostly paid offer...and many fans don't like that...

That's from a very old post and since ARD and ZDF will broadcast anyway, it doesn't really matter. But Eurosport 1 is no pay TV in Germany. It's free TV, here.

Only 3 athlete for the team events

Yes, I don't like this at all, especially in Eventing. In Dressage and Show Jumping it could be okay, but in Eventing having no drop scores is just a bad decision, given the difficult cross country race.

@dcroDo you know, which European countries belong to which group? I know that Germany is in Group A. But what about Czech Republic, for example? is it already group C?

According to this, the qualifictaion System for Rhythmic Gymnastics will slightly change: https://zhenyakanaevagymnasium.com/2016/08/29/olympic-games-tokyo-2020-rules-and-qualifications/

If the source is reliable, than the test event won't be a qualification event anymore, and the remaining quota places will be allocated by the World Cup 2020.
