I feel pretty weird to all the anti-olympics as in the same time there is people in base ball and football pro games in Japan. This looks pretty politic to me.
The work is still in progress as there is some issues with times and days of some session. For example the softball session on the 21st is missing but there is the 22nd session of sotfball at that place on the schedule right now. All the early morning event seems to appear to the day prior on the actual schedule.
My concern is on the split screen we have on the last games, we can watch four different sessions on the same screen, I hope it will be available this time also. There is no mention of it anyway
There is also a feed by sport that was added two days ago on the main page but right now there is nothing on it, we will see wednesday what happens
I take three weeks off for the olympic games since I work so I begin in 2010 for Vancouver, before I was student so that was easy to watch the more that I can. For this games it will be nearly 2am to nearly 5pm all day, and it will be a great pleasure.
Since London we are able to watch all the events so right now my work is counting how much event will take place at the same moment and having the right number of screen set up. In Rio and Pyeongchang we can have 4 events by windows with a split screen. I hope this is the same this year like this I can watch the more olympic action to feed me to next one.
Yes I will watch rowing. I already check because I was afraid to get up for nothing at 2:00 in the morning.
Unfortunately I already plan to watch all the softball and football games live. I already set up my five screens (I have two more to set up for the first week).
I really like there is live broadcast of the archery ranking rounds this time, and hopefully in shooting too, on dedicated platform, unless my night of the day 0 will be a little boring...
I see that the Eurosport/Discovery cycling subsidiary GCN+ is advertising itself as an Official Broadcaster & will be showing ALL the different cycling events including even triathlon throughout Europe - except & , where people obviously don’t worry about cycling.
We don't need to worry, we have a public channel broadcasting it free for the major event held in France and we have another free sport channel (l'équipe) broadcasting track cycling and mountain biking. If you are a cycling fan you can add the eurosport player to miss nothing.
In France we have a public channel France Télévision who broadcast the games. You can see mainly the french athletes but it's free...
Since Sochi they have a stream platform france.tv/sport where you can find all the events with the original sound, that is great because our commentator are very bad.
The rowing regatta is confirmed, and my guess is so will be the events in diving and artistic swimming, since these will all be direct qualification events and athletes will be given exeptions to enter Japan.
As I understand, the gymnastics World Cup was cancelled because it wasn't a qualification event anymore so there is no need to host it
To complete, the world cup event became a test event only. As a precaution the event will take place with only japanese gyms to test the venue. Without the qualification to obtain there is no need for athletes all around the globes to travel to Japan by this trouble time.
It would be nice to add the tournaments that count for the Olympic ranking of the following sports: badminton, fencing, weightlifting, judo and karate.
I tried to do it but I had severals problems. For some sports you don't have all the tournament schedule or you don't know if some tournament will count or not. For others sports you will have a calendar with 4 or 5 events in the same time, yes I'm looking at you golf and tennis. So I went to wait for the ranking list provided by the IF
With all the money spent (15 billions so far, if my memory is good) I don't see the official from Tokyo cancelling the games.
A new postponment is not realistic as the cost of the games will climb up more and more and the situation will not be sustainable for japanese organisation and government.
Dreaming of 2032 for Tokyo is not an option too because effort made to delay the game for one year won't be made to set up the game in 10 years, and I assume japanese people will not be interested by the olympic games for a long time.
If the sanitary situation let the games happen they will happen this summer. From what we know last year the situation was under control during mid-spring to mid-autumn so Tokyo Games might take place this summer, I hope so.
