These are good advice, and in most cases the athletes/tourists should follow these recommendations even without the risk of getting the zika virus... like safe sex.

Brazil lost the South American Championship this weekend in another defeat against Venezuela. Wasn't our best team, but that's like our third or fourth consecutive defeat against them I just say one thing... it's very hard for any team to win against them in their country.

I just think it's a dumb reason not to come to Brazil. First of all, some people are treating the zika virus like it's ebola or something, which is not. Second of all, Brazil managed to make the risk of getting zika extremely unlikely during the Olympics (some studies give a probability that 15 people will get the virus during that time, this includes our own population). Below we have a comparassion of new cases throughout the last months: 16.069 cases in the third week of February / 12 cases in the last week of May (remember this includes all cases in Brazil, not only Rio). So, if an athlete wanna blame other things, be our guest, but using the zika virus as an excuse not to come seems like something that belongs to athletes that wouldn't have come to the Olympics anyway (like top golfers).

Federation has announced 66 names for Brazil at the Olympics, biggest number since Atlanta (42 athletes). Maybe some athletes (like Duda) will be added by ranking.

There's not much of a difference, really, but we have to draw the line somewhere. If the Open contest allowed songs from the previous year (let's say, from 2014), I'm pretty sure most people would pick songs from that year, simply because they have a much better chance to win than an older tune - unless is a powerhouse hit like "Zombie". This way, it wouldn't be really distinguishable from the Annual contest. That, I think, was the thought behind the creation of this rule.

Everything Syfy produces is so so bad... except for Battlestar Galactica in the "old" days and maybe the reality series Face Off (which is a guilty pleasure of mine).

A / A The winner should be the first option to host, but in some cases we can pick someone else (like we already do): in case of a repeat winner (especially if they don't want to host again) and if the winner is unable to host.
