  4. Ivona Fialková will test herself at the European Championships (starting in Sprint & Pursuit) then will reconsider her eventual start at the World Championships. Paja will go to for a longer training camp and then will evaluate depending her feelings the eventual start at the World Championships. so sad to see them in such situation, but the health is obviously the priority above sport or olympic qualifications.. in this video they announced today their statement. it is in slovak, so you will not understand anything obviously, but it is just by looking at their sad faces you can understand how frustarated and helpless they both are now. Damn you covid
  5. Apparently our championship will unusually host quite a decent talent. 18 years old Luciano Vera (member of the ARG U17 World Cup team) will play the rest of the season for DAC https://noticiasdelnorte.com/luciano-vera-me-molesto-que-digan-que-me-escape-de-river/ Poor guy, apparently is "enjoying" snow for the first time

  12. envisaging to help Latvia with organizing the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championships The Lithuanian government has offered neighbouring Latvia help to organize this year's World Hockey Championships (May 21-June 6). If the plan to co-organize the championship with Denmark or Slovakia will fail, a couple matches from one of the preliminary groups could then take place in Lithuania. The Lithuanian website Delfi emphasized that this is so far only a proposal submitted by government officials to the Latvian side after Belarus lost its part of the World Champs.
  13. No Petra Rusnáková ? That´s surprising, can not find any news about her since last december https://www.isu.org/short-track/news/interviews-stk/13361-a-week-in-the-life-of-short-track-speed-skater-s-petra-rusnakova?templateParam=15, hope she is okay and she jut skip this race and not being injured or something
  14. International Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Rene Fasel hopes that Belarus will not boycott this year's world championship. On Monday, the country were deprived of the right to organize the WCh officially due to participants' safety concerns in view of the current political and epidemiological situation there. "I hope it doesn't happen. The Belarusian hockey federation really didn't want this. But when politics starts to play an increasingly important role, such things can happen and it's very bad for the sport," Fasel told TASS. The IIHF President declared that he was not interested in deteriorating relations with the Belarusian hockey movement and hoped that the championship in the country in the near future would be: "I feel really bad. Belarus is a country with amazing hockey fans. It was very difficult for me to explain I had no choice. I promised them that as long as I was here, I would help them make the championship in the country sooner or later. " ehm..reading between the lines, now I am really starting to be affraid for the Olympic qualification tournament...I literally can feel that "hidden" compensation for Belarus coming this August by pushing them to Beijing...

  19. NED for sure, ITA at home will somehow benefit from this as they usually do... but if you ask me who I want to qualify, then there no other option than HUN. I mean there no other bigger much unlucky athlete or country at the Olympic Games in this entire world than the womens water polo team. For god sake let them win that Bronze ! I mean yeah Beijing 2008 happened, well hard luck, but it happens in sport, however London 2012 was already the peak of frustration and irony of the destiny...but then came Rio and oh dear that last second Russian equalizer was like a slap to any sport justice, followed by the neverending penalty shootout as the last nail in the coffin
