  10. Imagine planting half milion trees in one day ! and it was Turkmenistan of all places Did the whole population of the country participated into this ?
  11. 5th place in the +100kg for our Márius Fízeľ People will say meh... but it is a very nice result and we did not have anything close to that for ages in this sport, he is still relatively young so the still long transition period we will have to survive until the talented youth prospect Patrícia Tománková will come to shine on the worlds tatamis can be somehow survivable He is still fighting for the Paris continental quota, would be amazing if he´ll manage to succeed and obtain it. It is already 12 years Slovak Judo had no representatives at the Olympic Games, would be really nice to stop this droughts
  12. 2 medals in the last day of the games completed the 36 medals won by team Ecuador in Santiago 2023, with a total of 7 Golds, 12 Silvers and 17 Bronzes. At the end Ecuador finished just short of the top 10 in the final tally by 1 gold, a couple of unlucky results especially in the first week like the injury of Tamara Salazar prior to her competition or very close losses in the final meters of the Road Cycling events were the main reason of missing the Top 10. However the team surpassed the goal of 30 medals, so the final outcome may be considered as a success overall. Gabi Vargas won yesterday her second medal here, this time a bronze after her silver from the 1km race a day earlier. And a dozen of minutes later María Arias brought the last medal of the team and concluded the participation of Ecuador at the games by this as well. 7 - 12 - 17 Medals of the Day Maria Loreta Arias, Inline Speed Skating W 500m Silver Gabriela Vargas, Inline Speed Skating W 10 000m Elimination Race Bronze
  13. On other more positive news Martin Pospíšil became tonight the 94th Slovak to play a match in the NHL and already in his grand debut for the Calgary Flames the 75th Slovak to score a goal Congrats Martin. Way to Go !
  14. San Jose did not exactly returned from their last trip in huge form I assume here With a record of 0-10 and only 1 single point from OT/PSO defeat with Colorado the Sharks are clearly heading for the worst start of the season of the league history, NYR in 1943/44 did not win first 15 games (but there were also draws at that time), 5 times a team lost all first 11 matches including the other clown of the league Arizona doing it twice...
  15. 4 new medals, 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze added to the medal tally for team in the penultimate day of the Games. Fun fact of the day: Ecuador became yesterday the very first ever winner of the Race Walk mixed marathon competition in history, as the discipline was competed for the very first time ever... logically the triumph meant also setting the establishing new World, Continental and National Record of the discipline, the female member of the team Glenda Morejon won her 2nd medal of the games in Santiago, after her Silver in the 20km event, this time a gold she will shares with the flagbearer Brian Pintado. 7 - 11 - 16 Medals of the Day Juan Jose Acevedo, Karate M Kumite -84kg Gold Glenda Morejón/Brian Pintado, Athletics Mixed Team Marathon Race Walk Relay Gold Gabriela Vargas, Inline Speed Skating W 1000m Silver Andres Montaňo, Greco-Roman Wrestling M -67kg Bronze
  16. and it´s a gold, and the setting of the new world record for obvious reason
  17. 1 and half minute advantage at last exchange for pair Morejon/Pintado in the newest IOC/IAAFWA masterpiece Mixed 2x2 Race Walk Marathon Relay
  18. Team won 4 medals during the day 14 of the competition, including the 5th gold. In total Ecuador reached the targeted barrier of 30 medals. PS: Yesterdays medals were dedicated to the very popular teammate and fellow great athlete and Paris 2024 hopeful Surfer Israel Barona who tragically passed away at his 34. 5 - 10 - 15 Medals of the Day Lucia Yepez, Freestyle Wrestling W -53kg Gold Valeria Echever, Karate W Kumite +68kg Silver Jeremy Peralta, Greco-Roman Wrestling M -60kg Bronze Genesis Reasco, Freestyle Wrestling W -76kg Bronze
  19. If she want, she can start in all 3 events
  20. I wonder if there would be one Slovak athlete in the team I guess a couple of lads would make the hockey team at the Winter Olympics and + Vlhová can be the picked one for Slalom... but at the Summer Games ? no idea, Salkazanov ? maybe, yeah, that would be one I guess, who else ? Barteková ? probably not I guess it would be an Italian in Skeet so that should be all
