  7. Day 1 at EYOF 2023 . Lea Popovičová (Photo 1), No not that Croat alpine skier, finished 7th in the Short-Track Speed Skating Girl´s 1500m., the remaining slovak starters ended in earlier stages . The Mixed relay advanced to today´s Semifinals as best Lucky loser . The Girl´s Ice Hockey team started the tournament with a very hurting defeat from 3-4. More than the defeat itself, will stay that sorrowful taste of a totally messed up match from the main referee. Who did not allow a clear goal to Nela Lopušanová which would end the score by 4-4 and the game would have resumed in Overtime. Literally everyone in the arena saw the goal, only the ref no ! and since in Spittal Ice Arena there not possibility of video review he simply did not accepted the clear goal... we lost 3-4, the girls cried and frustrated left the arena in tears and feeling of injustice and helplessness . However Nela Lopušanová once again proved she is head and shoulder ahead of everyone else who skated in the rink yesterday. The whole Swiss line on the ice was clearly only there to defend when Nela had her shift (Photo 2), absolute domination, strength on the puck, Incredible hockey IQ for her age. In simple words The main star of the show. results Day 1 (Sunday 22nd January, 2023)
