  1. Sorteggio osceno per Giacomel, che ha preso il 62. Guardate la gara di fondo e che differenza faceva partire dieci minuti prima o dopo.
  2. Maybe, just maybe, he could lose the 50 km if someone goes full 2018 Niskanen, destroys the field early and turns the race into a survival competition (unlikely scenario). As far as the relays are concerned, he would not manage to lose them if he tried
  3. I was looking forward to today's race to get a picture of our guys' condition before the relay. Carollo overperforming is very good news, he definitely earned the spot in the 3rd leg. The bad (but not surprising) news is France is way too strong and is guaranteed a place on the podium. The terrible news is Graz blowing up, if he performs like this on Sunday we are cooked. Now, all of this could be useless if the technical staff provides the athletes with the same worthless pieces of wood they prepared for the skiathlon.
  4. Hedegart lost ground when Klaebo wasn't super fast, between 7.4 and 8.6 km. Watch out.
  5. Desloges is on the podium, the question is whether Klaebo will win and sweep cross-country skiing or Hedegart will spoil his party.
  6. I think he's gonna be 5th, behind Desloges and the three Norwegians. Desloges is a huge revelation, amazing talent.
  7. Desloges A nice performance so far by Carollo, which is encouraging for the relay.
  8. Big win for Italy, even though it's a bit of a fluke as it's the result of a British blunder in the 1st end. Still, it may be crucial to get to the playoffs.
  9. Continuo a ignorare la fonte e continuano a sembrarmi numeri oscenamente alti.
  10. For trivia lovers: Fontana ties fencer Edoardo Mangiarotti for most medals won by an Italian at the Olympics with 13. She is also the third female athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics to get a medal in the same race in 5 different editions, after speed skating legends Ireen Wüst in the 1500m and Claudia Pechstein in the 5000m.
  11. In generale sono d'accordo, poi nel caso di specie passare avanti era anche la cosa più sicura per evitare casini.
  12. Fontana was completely spent after two rounds trying to keep up with Velzeboer, but she pulled a defensive masterclass
  13. Velzeboer has this, the question is whether Fontana will be able to wheel suck her way to silver or she will blow up after trying to keep up with her for two rounds already.
  14. I feel for the martyrs that will be paired with Santos-Griswold in the next races.
  16. The thing is, it's incredibly frustrating to watch a crazily talented athlete like Sieghel make the same dumb mistakes over and over and throw away chance after chance As far as the overall medal count is concerned, our podium/win chances are heavily concentrated in the first half of the Games, so I think there is a sort of rush to get as many as possible this week, especially as the biathlon team, which was very hyped, seems to struggle enormously with the equipment.
  17. Exploit inqualificabile di Sieghel, che in ogni singola situazione di gara ha sempre scelto l'opzione meno furba a disposizione. Non che sia la prima volta.
  18. Complete disaster for Italy Absolutely deserved failure for Sieghel, who pulled the stupidest move of the day by a mile. He had absolutely no need to try and squeeze himself in between China and Poland.
  19. I heard an Italian journalist say Semirunniy was going to skate earlier (first 2 pairs) and Ghiotto later (final 2), this changes things a bit.
