  1. So I guess Brooke Andersen failing to make the US Olympic team is good news for Camryn Rogers chances in Paris.

  4. Terrifying for swimmers from other countries
  5. 0% chance Gammon will be selected. The British team was already chosen a few months ago. For him, this meet was his Olympics. All of the Israelis will be selected though.

  7. US Olympic Trials: Day 9 Finals: Women's 50m Freestyle (OQT: 24.70) 1. Simone Manuel - 24.13 2. Gretchen Walsh - 24.15 3. Abbey Weitzeil - 24.26 4. Torri Huske - 24.33 5. Rylee Erisman - 24.62 6. Erika Connolly - 24.63 7. Catie DeLoof - 24.69 8. Maxine Parker - 24.90 Both Walsh and Huske weren't able to reproduce their swims from last night and that opened the door for Simone Manuel to get 1st place. Happy for her to get an individual event! Walsh was still able to get second. Men's 1500m Freestyle (OQT: 15:00.99) 1. Bobby Finke - 14:40.28 2. David Johnston - 14:52.74 3. Luke Whitlock - 14:53.00 4. Daniel Matheson - 14:59.51 5. Luke Ellis - 15:06.71 6. Charlie Clark - 15:12.60 7. William Mulgrew - 15:17.62 8. Carson Hick - 15:17.92 That's the fastest time ever done on US soil by Finke. With Hafnaoui likely not going to the Olympics, Finke will head to Paris as the favourite. Gutsy swim from David Johnston to hold off a charging Whitlock at the end of the race to make his first Olympic team.
  8. Yes, I would imagine so. Like Josh said, there's no need to taper for an in season meet a month before the Olympics unless you're chasing a qualifying time. So if Kharun isn't tapered, that's absolutely terrifying. Same for MSH who also went 1:56 in the 200 free. Actually Harvey also has the B-standard but she has a time slower than Oleksiak. If I have the time, I'll try to do some math to see how many quotas will be leftover for OCT swimmers and see what Penny's chances are to be entered individually.
  9. Here is the latest Universality Report from World Aquatics. Every NOC is obligated to send the swimmers that earn the most points in an event. So for Slovakia, it looks like the two athletes will be Matej Dusa (Men's 100m Freestyle) and Tamara Potocka (Women's 200m Individual Medley)
  10. 2024 European Championships - Belgrade (SRB) June 17th - June 23rd 2024 Meet Results The following new OQTs were achieved Men's 50m Freestyle Piotr Ludwiczak Shane Ryan Men's 100m Freestyle Kristof Milak Danas Rapsys Velimir Stjepanovic Men's 200m Freestyle Nandor Nemeth Men's 800m Freestyle Krzysztof Chmielewski Zalan Sarkany Men's 200m Backstroke David Gerchik Men's 100m Breaststroke Andrius Sidlauskas Men's 200m Breaststroke Lyubomir Epitropov Men's 100m Butterfly Joshua Gammon Daniel Gracik Men's 200m Individual Medley Ron Polonsky Men's 400m Individual Medley Balazs Hollo Apostolos Papastamos Gabor Zombori Women's 50m Freestyle Theodora Drakou Jana Pavalic Women's 100m Freestyle Barbora Seemanova Women's 200m Freestyle Minna Abraham Anastasia Gorbenko Women's 1500m Freestyle Vivien Jackl Women's 100m Breaststroke Anastasia Gorbenko Women's 200m Breaststroke Kristyna Horska Women's 100m Butterfly Georgia Damasioti Roos Vanotterdijk Women's 200m Individual Medley Lea Polonsky
  11. Her best shot at a medal is in the 400 IM. Bronze looks pretty wide open.
  12. US Olympic Trials: Day 8 Finals: Men's 100m Butterfly (OQT: 51.67) 1. Caeleb Dressel - 50.19 Q 2. Thomas Heilman - 50.80 Q 3. Dare Rose - 50.84 4. Zach Harting - 51.37 5. Aiden Hayes - 51.43 6. Ryan Murphy - 51.46 7. Luke Miller - 51.48 8. Kaii Winkler - 51.51 Safe to say that Dressel is officially back. And Heilman shocks Dare Rose to take the 2nd spot. He'll be absolutely terrifying in a few years. With both Dressel and Heilman doubling up here, Brooks Curry and Matt King are officially on the team. Women's 200m Individual Medley (OQT: 2:11.47) 1. Kate Douglass - 2:06.79 Q 2. Alex Walsh - 2:07.86 Q 3. Isabel Ivey - 2:10.09 4. Beata Nelson - 2:10.38 5. Leah Hayes - 2:11.81 6. Zoe Dixon - 2:12.01 7. Lilla Bognar - 2:12.48 8. Lucy Bell - 2:13.67 Douglass and Walsh a cut above the result of the field. That's Douglass's first time under 2:07 as well. Women's 800m Freestyle (OQT: 8:26.71) 1. Katie Ledecky - 8:14.12 Q 2. Paige Madden - 8:20.71 Q 3. Jillian Cox - 8:22.97 4. Aurora Roghair - 8:28.59 5. Rachel Stege - 8:28.77 6. Kate Hurst - 8:28.92 7. Claire Weinstein - 8:29.80 8. Ashley Twichell - 8:32.75 Ledecky didn't seemed pleased with the time after the race. Madden, meanwhile, dropped 7 seconds off her PB to take 2nd. She's been having a great trials. Semi-finals: Advancing to Women's 50m Freestyle Final: 1. Gretchen Walsh - 24.06 2. Torri Huske - 24.09 3. Abbey Weitzeil - 24.48 4. Simone Manuel - 24.51 5. Erika Connolly - 24.54 6. 13. New OQTS from Day 6: Men's 50m Freestyle: Shane Ryan Men's 200m Individual Medley: Ron Polonsky Women's 50m Freestyle: Theodora Drakou Women's 200m Individual Medley: Lea Polonsky
  14. I know I've beaten this into the ground on this forum but 53.61 in the 100 free is such a joke qualification time. We are actually going to get something like 12 qualifiers in this event. At the very least, World Aquatics should have kept the B standard at 3% of the OQT instead of reducing it to 0.5% of the OQT so that athletes with an A standard in another event could've possibly entered.
  15. 2024 Spanish Summer Open Championships - Spanish Olympic Trials - Palma de Mallorca (ESP) June 18th - June 22nd 2024 Meet Results The following new OQTs were achieved Women's 200m Backstroke Estella Tonrath* Carmen Weiler Women's 200m Individual Medley Emma Carrasco * Not selected for Olympic Team The following 16 swimmers have been selected for the Olympic Team Men (9): Cesar Castro - 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x200m Freestyle Relay Carles Coll - 4x100m Medley Relay (Breaststroke) Sergio de Celis - 100m Freestyle, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay Luis Dominguez - 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x200m Freestyle Relay Carlos Garach - 800m Freestyle, 1500m Freestyle, 4x200m Freestyle Relay (400m Freestyle) Arbidel Gonzalez - 200m Butterfly Hugo Gonzalez - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley, 4x100m Medley Relay Ferran Julia - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Mario Molla - 100m Butterfly, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay Women (7): Ainhoa Campabadal - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Emma Carrasco - 200m Individual Medley, 400m Individual Medley (200m Breaststroke) Maria Daza - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Alba Herrero - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Paula Juste - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Carmen Weiler - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke Africa Zamorano - 200m Backstroke *Events are only projected, not official Source
  16. Unfortunately, Oleksiak did not get the qualifying time. Now she needs to hope for a B-standard invite.
  17. 2024 Lithuanian Junior Championships - Kaunas (LTU) June 20th - June 22nd 2024 Meet Results No new OQTs were achieved
  18. I don't think so. All the women in the 200m freestyle final are already on the team. A couple days ago there was a swimoff for 6th place in the 100m freestyle to determine the final spot on the team. This happened when there were already enough swimmers qualified for the team so I don't think DeLoof (who finished 7th) will be going.
  19. 2024 French Elite Championships - Chartres (FRA) June 16th - June 21st 2024 Meet Results The following new OQTs were achieved Men's 100m Freestyle Rafael Fente Damers Men's 800m Freestyle Ahmed Jaouadi Men's 1500m Freestyle Ahmed Jaouadi Men's 100m Backstroke Michel Arkhangelsky Men's 100m Butterfly Mehdy Metella* Women's 400m Freestyle Anastasiia Kirpichnikova Women's 100m Backstroke Beryl Gastaldello * Not selected for Olympic Team The following 30 swimmers have been selected for the Olympic Team Men (16): David Aubry - 400m Freestyle, 800m Freestyle, 1500m Freestyle Pacome Bricout - 800m Freestyle Rafael Fente Damers - 100m Freestyle, 4x100m Freestyle Relay Roman Fuchs - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Maxime Grousset - 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay Guillaume Guth - 4x100m Freestyle Relay Damien Joly - 1500m Freestyle Yann le Goff - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Florent Manaudou - 50m Freestyle, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay Leon Marchand - 200m Breaststroke, 200m Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley, 400m Individual Medley, 4x100m Medley Relay Yohann Ndoye-Brouard - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke Hadrien Salvan - 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x200m Freestyle Relay Clement Secchi - 100m Butterfly Mewen Tomac - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, 4x100m Medley Relay Antoine Viquerat - 4x100m Medley Relay (Breaststroke) Wissam-Amazigh Yebba - 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x200m Freestyle Relay Women (14): Charlotte Bonnet - 200m Individual Medley, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay (Breaststroke) Oceane Carnez - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Beryl Gastaldello - 50m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, 4x100m Freestyle Relay (100m Freestyle), 4x100m Medley Relay Melanie Henique - 50m Freestyle Marina Jehl - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Anastasiia Kirpichnikova - 400m Freestyle, 800m Freestyle, 1500m Freestyle Pauline Mahieu - 200m Backstroke Mary-Ambre Moluh - 4x100m Freestyle Relay Lison Nowaczyk - 4x100m Freestyle Relay Lilou Ressencourt - 4x100m Medley Relay (Butterfly) Emma Terebo - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, 4x100m Medley Relay Lucile Tessariol - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Assia Touati - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Marie Wattel - 100m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly, 4x100m Freestyle Relay, 4x100m Medley Relay *Events are only projected, not official Source
  20. Question for the Italian users, I'm seeing that no Italian met the 400 free standard at the Sette Colli or any of the other qualifying competitions. However, there's 4 guys that have the OQT in the qualification period. Would those spots get filled or will they be left empty? Maybe Ragaini gets one of the spots since he's already qualified for the 200 free?
  21. US Olympic Trials: Day 7 Finals: Men's 50m Freestyle (OQT: 21.96) 1. Caeleb Dressel - 21.41 Q 2. Chris Guiliano - 21.69 Q 3. Matt King - 21.70 4. Jack Alexy - 21.76 5. Michael Andrew - 21.81 6. Ryan Held - 21.85 7. Quintin McCarty - 21.97 8. Adam Chaney - 22.08 Dressel is back! Alexy 4th . Guiliano becomes the 1st American man since Biondi in 1988 to qualify individually in the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle events. He just beats out Matt King by 0.01 seconds. What a meet he's having. With Both Dressel and Guiliano doubling up here, all of the male 2nd place finishers have now officially qualified for the Olympic Team. Women's 200m Backstroke (OQT: 2:10.39) 1. Regan Smith - 2:05.16 Q 2. Phoebe Bacon - 2:06.27 Q 3. Claire Curzan - 2:06.34 4. Kennedy Noble - 2:07.52 5. Rhyan White - 2:07.64 6. Katie Grimes - 2:07.72 7. Isabelle Stadden - 2:08.77 8. Teagan O'Dell - 2:0.21 Once again, Smith slower than expected. She was noticeably more than a second slower on the last 50m compared to her other splits. Should be a fun showdown in a month between her and McKeown. Curzan finishes 3rd . She was in second at the 150m but was passed by Bacon who beat her out by 0.07 seconds. Gutsy swim by Bacon to take the 2nd spot when many didn't predict her to qualify. Men's 200m Individual Medley (OQT: 1:57.94) 1. Carson Foster - 1:55.65 Q 2. Shaine Casas - 1:55.83 Q 3. Kieran Smith - 1:56.97 4. Chase Kalisz - 1:57.17 5. Owen McDonald - 1:57.51 6. Arsenio Bustos - 1:58.26 7. Grant House - 1:58.35 8. Will Modglin - 1:58.44 Shaine Casas has developed a reputation of not being able to swim in the highest pressure meets but that didn't happen tonight. He delivered the swim of his life here to qualify for his 1st Olympic Team. Really happy for the guy. He had a great celebration after the race and was visibly emotional. For Foster, this marks a new PB for him. With Foster doubling up, Ryan Held was also officially qualified for the Olympic Team after his 5th place finish in the 100m freestyle. His time in that event is at a higher percentage above the OQT than Curry in the 200m freestyle. Semi-finals: Advancing to Men's 100m Butterfly Final: 1. Caeleb Dressel - 50.79 2. Dare Rose - 51.11 3. Zach Harting - 51.16 4. Ryan Murphy - 51.43 5. Aiden Hayes - 51.50 6. Luke Miller - 51.53 7. Thomas Heilman - 51.58 8. Kaii Winkler - 51.64 Dressel and Rose look solid. Heilman a bit slower than expected. Advancing to Women's 200m Individual Medley Final: 1. Kate Douglass - 2:08.53 2. Alex Walsh - 2:08.74 3. Beata Nelson - 2:10.83 4. Leah Hayes - 2:10.93 5. 24. US Olympic Trials: Day 6 Finals: Women's 200m Butterfly (OQT: 2:08.43) 1. Regan Smith - 2:05.70 Q 2. Alex Shackell - 2:06.69 Q 3. Lindsay Looney - 2:07.03 4. Emma Sticklen - 2:08.07 5. Dakota Luther - 2:08.63 6. Charlotte Hook - 2:10.04 7. Tess Howley - 2:10.45 8. Lucy Bell - 2:10.58 Times slower than expected. Not sure if Regan was hurting at the end or if she shut it down but either, she qualifies in her 2nd event. Shackell also adds an individual swim after qualifying for the 4x200m freestyle relay. With Both Smith and Shackell doubling up, Abbey Weitzeil and Anna Peplowski are now officially on the Olympic team having earned 5th place in the 100m and 200m freestyle events. Men's 200m Backstroke (OQT: 1:57.50) 1. Ryan Murphy - 1:54.33 Q 2. Keaton Jones - 1:54.61 Q? 3. Jack Aikins - 1:54.78 4. Tommy Janton - 1:57.12 5. Jay Litherland - 1:57.16 6. Daniel Diehl - 1:57.60 7. Caleb Maldari - 1:58.31 8. Hunter Tapp - 1:59.30 3rd Olympic Trials in a row that Murphy's qualified in this event and 3rd year in a row that one of his teammates at the University of California has qualified alongside him. This time it's Keaton Jones who was very emotional after the race. I completely forgot to post about this but Hugo Gonzalez went 1:54.51 earlier today at Spanish Trials. Murphy must've heard him because he responds here with the fastest time of the year. Women's 200m Breaststroke (OQT: 2:23.91) 1. Kate Douglass - 2:19.46 Q 2. Lilly King - 2:21.93 Q 3. Alex Walsh - 2:22.38 4. Ella Nelson - 2:23.95 5. Kaelyn Gridley - 2:27.44 6. Anna Keating - 2:29.54 7. Isabelle Odgers - 2:30.07 8. Raya Mellott - 2:30.19 2nd win of the trials for Kate Douglass and just 0.16 off her American Record. Alex Walsh was leading King after 150m but King made a late push to get the 2nd spot. With Both Douglass and King doubling up on events here, Erika Connolly secures her place on the Olympic Team after she beat Catie DeLoof in a swimoff to earn the 6th spot in the women's 100m freestyle. Semi-finals: Advancing to Men's 50m Freestyle Final: 1. Chris Guiliano - 21.59 2. Caeleb Dressel - 21.61 3. Jack Alexy - 21.66 4. Ryan Held - 21.82 5. Michael Andrew - 21.83 6. Quintin McCarty - 21.85 7. Matt King - 21.88 8. Adam Chaney - 21.81 (Needed a double swimoff to decide 8th place!!!!!) Top 3 from the 100 free looking like the favourites again in this race. There was some doubt about Dressel in the morning after what looked like a sluggish prelims swim but he was much better tonight. Will also see if Michael Andrew can silence all his haters and qualify here. Advancing to Women's 200m Backstroke Final: 1. Regan Smith - 2:06.41 2. Phoebe Bacon - 2:07.23 3. Kennedy Noble - 2:08.87 Signs of life in this race from Claire Curzan! 2nd spot in this event is wide open after Regan Smith who will likely be on world record watch again tomorrow. Advancing to Men's 200m Individual Medley Final: 1. Chase Kalisz - 1:56.83 2. Shaine Casas - 1:57.87 3. Kieran Smith - 1:57.94 4. Carson Foster - 1:57.96 5. Owen McDonald - 1:58.21 6.
