  1. Trae-Bell Haynes has been released from training camp. 15 players remain.
  2. I think Paulina Peda could get an invite in the women's 100m butterfly. In Tokyo, the final list came out 10 days before the start of the swimming competition. Hopefully it comes out earlier this year.
  3. I've figured it out. Chelius's time is from the 2023 South African National Championships. Thomasberger's time is from the Q!-Cup. Neither of them were approved Olympic Qualifying meets unfortunately.
  4. World Aquatics sent out an email to all national federations 2 months ago saying that no B cut swimmers may qualify. Turns out it couldn't be further from the truth.
  5. I don't think either Emma Chelius or David Thomasberger have an OCT. At least according to the qualification page.
  6. Is Seemanova planning on swimming the 100m freestyle? That could play a role in whether or not she gets invited. Also the other athletes that got invited have the A standard in another event and Janickova doesn't
  7. The first Olympics that I watched was Beijing 2008. I was blessed to have my first two Olympics be Beijing 2008 (being able to see the greatness of Phelps and Bolt) and Vancouver 2010 (home Olympics and two of the greatest weeks in Canadian history). I think that's I big reason why I'm such a big fan today. Best Olympics was definitely Vancouver 2010. Home Olympics, 14 gold medals. Don't think it'll ever be topped in my lifetime. Worst is probably London 2012. Only 1 gold medal won.
  8. Good to see World Aquatics make a good decision Neza Klancar is another athlete I've heard will race the 100m freestyle without either the A or B standard
  9. According to the GB athletics team announcement, they rejected all 3 places in the women's 5000m which would mean Briana Scott should get a reallocated quota
  10. Wait, Majerski got selected over 3 other guys with an OCT? Thats weird. Maybe because he has an OQT in another event. Either it's an error by the Polish federation or World Aquatics decided to make the B-standards easier would be my guess.
  11. Some suggestions for swimming: Australia will win more gold medals than the USA Summer McIntosh will win four or more medals Sarah Sjoestroem will lead off the women's 4x100m freestyle relay in a time that would've made the podium in the individual 100m freestyle 10 or more world records will be broken Katie Ledecky loses in the 800m freestyle The winner of the women's 100m Backstroke will go under 57 seconds Leon Marchand wins 2 or more gold medals One of Caeleb Dressel, Kristof Milak, or Adam Peaty win an individual gold medal There will be 3 or more podiums without either Americans or Australians David Popovici wins gold in both the 100m and 200m freestyle events There will be a podium that features all junior swimmers An athlete will false start during one of the finals sessions The heats of the women's 200m butterfly get cancelled due to their being too few swimmers One of Tatjana Smith, Kate Douglass, or Tes Schouten does not make the podium in the women's 200m breaststroke Australia will medal in all 7 relays Ahmed Jaouadi will make a final There will be a podium consisting of all junior swimmers (all born in 2006 or younger) A swimmer will accidentally walk to the wrong lane after being introduced Germany will win a gold medal A Supersuited world record gets broken
  12. Only thing that prevented me from picking the 11+ hours option is the time zone difference. I might do a test run the first couple of days to see how well I can manage with little sleep. In terms of events I'm looking forward to watching, I'll divide this into 3 parts to make it easier. Swimming: Men's 100m Freestyle Men's 100m Butterfly Women's 400m Freestyle Women's 200m Individual Medley Men's distance races Athletics: Both 100m Men's 1500m Both hammer throw events Men's Decathlon Both 400m Other: Road races Triathlon Speed Climbing Men's basketball (Canada games) All track cycling races
  13. Oshae Brissett and Kyle Alexander were released from training camp. 16 players remain.
  14. I wonder who they predicted to win gold? All the recent data points to Katzberg being the favourite. Nowicki is the only other person I can think of.
  15. Shogo Takeda will have 100% had his place rejected by the Japanese federation. They don't even let most of their swimmers with an OQT go to the Olympics . Also Fangli is now representing Hungary.
  16. I am glad she got an invitation! It was heartbreaking to see her miss the OQT by 0.02 seconds.
  17. Her 2023 World Championship schedule was nuts: 4x 50m Freestyle (Including swim off) 3x 100m Freestyle 3x 200m Freestyle 3x 200m IM 2x 4x100m Freestyle Relay 2x 4x200m Freestyle Relay 2x 4x100m Medley Relay 2x Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay So that's 2.7km of swimming in 21 races. Dropping the 200 free is definitely the right move.
  18. Netherlands Men (8): Caspar Corbeau - 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke Arno Kamminga - 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke Nyls Korstanje - 100m Butterfly Sean Niewold - 100m Freestyle Stan Pijnenburg - 4x100m Medley Relay Kenzo Simons - 50m Freestyle Renzo Tjon-A-Joe - 50m Freestyle Kai van Westering - 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke Women (11): Kim Busch - 50m Freestyle Imani de Jong - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Maaike de Waard - 100m Backstroke Tessa Giele - 100m Butterfly Silke Holkenborg - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Tes Schouten - 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke Marrit Steenbergen - 100m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley Kira Toussaint - 100m Backstroke Janna van Kooten - 4x200m Freestyle Relay Valerie van Room - 50m Freestyle Sam van Nunen - 4x100m Freestyle Relay No individual 50 or 200 free for Steenbergen
  19. Ah yes, my favourite hockey team, the Gobolts
  20. Tuesday, after the last world rankings get published Edit: Always one step ahead of me @Josh
  21. I think in Tokyo, it was posted 10 days before the start of the Opening Ceremony so it'll probably be around the same time this year.
  22. the unqualified nations list? I wouldn't do that yet. It's possible they could still reject their universality places. I'm just temporarily putting all the universality athletes in their events for now.
  23. That was one of the names I was confused about. He's still listed as competing in the 100m freestyle on the latest universality report and I don't remember him bettering his 50m freestyle time at the European Championships, so who knows? . I just want the official entry lists to come out already.
  24. @intoronto I think you posted on the wrong thread I think Ciara Mageean could drop out of this event to focus on the 1500m which would help out Rynda.
