  1. Yeah, although that's not my main reason for hoping there will be no shooting rampage in biathlon
  2. Being stronger does though. If you're stronger, you push forward harder with every push.
  3. Nearly 15 pages in one evening in the regular biathlon discussion thread. If I didn't know any better I'd think one of the athletes had gone on a shooting rampage during competition.
  4. Exactly the sentiment I expected and why it'd be wise to just leave this out of here for now. In an incredibly complicated discussion, which transgenders in sports definitely form, someone doesn't agree and immediately the 'transphobic' flies around.
  5. Do you accept Brazilians who completely wiped the floor with Jesipionok?
  6. This is the main thing.
  7. I'm not in favour of an 'open competition' (open only if you prove you're a transgender? That doesn't seem like a good idea) and not in favour of women who were born men competing in the women's categories. Since I'm sure the other options will lead to more angry reactions and whatnot, I'll refrain from commenting until we've got ourselves a transgender biathlete.
  8. Zlatkauskas would fit right in a team with Loginov then
  9. France = 1 Norway = 1 1 + 1 = 2, hence France + Norway = 2 Yep.
  10. Exactly. I found the workaround already: don't do it.
  11. And France and Norway get a Lithuanian to compensate?
  12. So basically double chances for men. Yeah...no.
  13. What if you're the number 6 in a team though?
  14. Obviously I was sarcastic. That'd be the start of the death of women's sports.
  15. This would be the best option then: anyone can field a relay of 4 athletes and they can choose whomever of their nation they want, no limits on men or women. Full equality
  16. Much as lafer rifles would help minor nations and much as I obviously have an interest in what's good for minor nations, I'd be as strongly against laser rifle as I can possibly be.
  17. Yeah in in cross-country skiing the big teams have 50 freaking pairs of skis per athlete and a whole science team of wax technicians behind them. I know it ain't gonna happen, but some sort of cap on the equipment budget would be nice.
  18. Athletes not needing/having their personal rifle would actually be something I'm in favour of. It's such a huge obstacle for smaller nations to even have a decent rifle.
  19. Yeah relays are weird. I mean, biathlon has way too many, cross-country barely has any. They could just meet in the middle.
  20. The amount of times I've gotten a message saying this or that miss was "on the edge" is uncountable At least that wouldn't be an issue with laser rifles, or less so, but I doubt that's a good thing.
  21. Wind tends to affect laser light less than a physical bullet, for example.
  22. I think I know that fairly well by now And I get and agree with your point about the pursuits, but it seems like they're adding more and more. IBU Cup gets changed into some sort of testing grounds and even from there qualifying for World Cups is being made harder. It's the only way to qualify though..
  23. Yeah...the issue isn't that laser rifles can't hit the target It's (partially, but mainly) that they take away huge part of the skill needed for shooting.
  24. To be fair, literally everyone deserves it more But yeah, #TeamDoctor all the way. Anything with nurses and doctors working their lungs out would be fine though.
  25. Pretty much the entire top of the world of ski jumping goes to Japan without a problem though. The issue is not 'leaving Europe', the bigger issue is the USA doesn't have it's things in order.
