  1. That's what they've been doing with the so-called 'short individual'. They should now also have the balls to say "Nope, that didn't actually change anything, so let's forget that."
  2. Fixed that for you I'll bring my little axe though. Fuck the haters.
  3. Yeah, one grabs a board a little different or twists 2 degrees the other way or something. And if we're watching the women's competitions there's even less diversity in actions, a twist here, a twist there, that's it.
  4. And no, get those mass start 60's out of the IBU Cup, thank you. And take the pursuits with you out of the IBU Cup. Sprints and individuals as much as possible there, since it's a qualifying level and one can't qualify through pursuits or mass start 60's or supersprint 85's or whatnot.
  5. And will that be an actual biathlon weapon, or the by then 'improved' biathlon weapon of choice...AKA a laser rifle?
  6. I can't wait for when you're old, federations start messing with the events you like and people go 'they improved it!'. And no, I'm not going to buy the "but I will be different, I will live with these changes and enjoy them! " young people so often seem to think
  7. I wouldn't be surprised (actually I would, but let's stay positive) if that doctor gets a 'Person of the year' cover. I mean the doctor who warned about the virus, then got arrested and intimidated by the Chinese government for 'spreading rumours' (including being forced to 'confess'), yet still kept putting his life on the line - both against the government and against the virus - to try and help as many people as he could before sadly catching the virus and dying of it. That dude's a hero.
  8. They're trying though, and they should also have the balls to sometimes just say "Nah, this isn't it" instead of elevating everything they try to World Cup status anyway "because we can".
  9. You've got to do a penalty lap after a miss, obvously shooting matters. It's not cross-country skiing. Penalty loops are mostly not even shown by the way, so the misses in the individual are even easier to see the effect of immediately. The only reason the sprint is easier to watch for new fans who aren't yet used to it is that there's less athletes on course at any given moment.
  10. Slopestyle drags on forever though
  11. How is there a tangible loss in the sprint and not in the individual? In the latter the penalty is even added to the time literally within two seconds, how can it be more clear?!
  12. Right, 2020 Daytona 500 part two, here we go
  13. No! You do not bring goddamn breakdance into the thread of the world's best sport
  14. Then you're just not used to watching it yet For me it doesn't feel different than when I'm watching F1 with live timing on another screen.
  15. And that is in an unfair format only, either the pursuit or the mass start 60.
  16. If there are screens showing the standings - and better, if internet is working fine - it's just not. Plus even the IBU Cups have stadium speakers helping you out, no doubt the World Cup has the same. It's easily possible to keep an eye on live timing if internet works fine (which is a bigger issue in such an event), also with athletes passing by. Just keep the live timing open and you need like 5 seconds to take a quick peek. There's always moments in which no athlete passes by.
  17. Oh they will, don't you worry. The mass start 60 doesn't need range developments, because of the unfair format of the race.
  18. I get jealous every time I watch the World Cup and see multiple screens there. I've been to Obertilliach, Lenzerheide, Martell, Obertilliach again, Arber and Arber again and only the latter has one screen showing only the standings
  19. I believe the question was what you follow, instead of specifically 'watch', so I also answered 'South American Championships' there
  20. Yeah. I mean, IBU is at least creative....haha, biathlon on asphalt, no way! Surely they must have wheels or something on their skis and that's just not ever going to be poss.....ooooh wait, summer biathlon has been around for a long, long, long time.
  21. I'd go with sprints, mass starts and individuals as main individual things (and for fuck's sake, give the individual a better name), with the pursuit only held in World Cups. Having the pursuit and sprint as separate Olympic medal events is total bullshit. Keep the single mixed relay for exhibition events, obviously keep the men's and women's relays and fine, keep the mixed. Supersprints and mass start 60's and whatnot can stay in the junior ranks, especially the simply unfair mass start 60 has no place in the World Cup. At all. Like most sports, they seem to think the events are the problem. They're not, nobody who doesn't watch biathlon now is going to give a crap suddenly if they add some now event.
  22. I've only been to IBU Cups so I'd desperately like more screens (or just...you know, a screen) Fan zones for those 6 people would be fun.
  23. It'll score high in the US
  24. I tried to read it but every time I try, my brain melts a little so I thought it'd be better to give up.
