  1. Anyone else see Breaking4, Nike's attempt to help Kipyegon run a sub-4 minute mile? Commentators went super smoothly from "she is on pace" to still finding it all fantastic and legendary and historical despite it being entirely clear 400m+ before the finish she wasn't gonna come close She ended up a bit under her own WR, so with all this help and such, one can easily argue that WR was a significantly better run than this. There were also two female pace makers, Jemma Reekie and another, but for some reason they spent 800m running a few positions beind Kipyegon and then stepped out - as planned, apparently.
  2. Oh I agree. My own girlfriend has never gotten a test despite competing in world championships (same as Carl btw ), but still carefully checks every supplement and medicine.
  3. Given by an army doctor (she is one of many army athletes in Germany).
  4. practiced against an under-15 boys team from Luzern. They were not allowed to say anything about it, like the result, but yeah....good luck letting teenagers swear to secrecy, so it came out quickly: the 13-14 year old boys won, 7-1 Switzerland may want to train up a bit...
  5. I'd need to check, but kinda feel like those qualifying times are slower than the times one needs to qualify for the Dutch championships in some cases
  6. And a world U20 record, and a Dutch, Belgian and South African record (and French of course), what a race Good thing they added this besides the DL program.
  7. Wow, 14th fastest time ever for Habz in the 1500m, only 5 men have ever been faster
  8. Holloway ain't great yet.
  9. Well the current best in the world was in Paris, so....
  10. Somewhat late, but just started watching the season now....but what's up with the 8 athlete boulder final format?! The final was always super easy to watch and follow along, one attempt at a time, but now after a little bit, there are two athletes climbing at the same time, so it quickly turns into a broadcast mess like semis with the focus being on one athlete and meanwhile hearing the crowd reacting to something we aren't seeing....how on earth is this good?
  11. "More medals for Europe" *checks results of this athlete* Ah, two World Cup participations, 40th and 50th. I wouldn't worry too much just yet, given the Austrian strength as of now I'd assume we won't see her in World Cups for a while
  12. Too bad, this seems pretty cool https://alt-int-games.fandom.com/wiki/Española_Winter_Games What on earth moves someone to spend the energy and time on creating a tiny Wiki-like website (I assume barely anyone visits it?) full of events that even if real would be obscure at best is beyond me, but to each their own I guess
  13. Thanks. I'm afraid that won't help me, unfortunately (I'm fine with skipping most of the prelims and watching from the QF's or something, and live simply won't work because of time). Too bad IJF still thinks judo is such a big sport they should charge money to watch, federations like FIL and IBSF are so much better in terms of showing their sports to the public.
  14. On JudoTV I need to pay 25 euro for this event only (and mind you, IJF always sees the team competition not as part of the world championships, but as a separate event, so that's another 25 euro for that single day) I can watch live if I want, Dutch NOS has a live stream, but on-demand seems to be only on paid JudoTV.
  15. Are there any places where one can watch this (on-demand, specifically) outside of the IJF, where apparently they once again think judo is one of the most globally popular viewing sports and they're asking lots of money to watch
  16. And it is! Despite Ferrari very, very clearly not wanting the #83 to do it, they managed to take the win, first Polish and first Chinese overall Le Mans winners
  17. Huh what the hell
  18. Happy flag day to Russia!
  19. But besides that, let's not pretend this map is totally wrong or something I mean, I would indeed much rather go to Iceland than to, say, Brazil, Mozambique or Belarus in terms of safety.
  20. That is awesome, always heartbreaking to see such a venue destroyed by nature and amazing to see the amounts of hard work paying off.
  21. Let's say when it comes to them and being fair, I have my...uhm...expectations Right now Brazil has one male halfpipe spot, earned entirely by Augustinho. Maybe the likes of @NearPup, @JoshMartini007 or @Josh know better if a second spot is still possible?
  22. Just read it, that could potentially be absolutely horrible news for Augustinho Teixeira who has worked so hard and had such good results to get a quota spot for Brazil (which would obviously be his). If CBDN takes that away from him.....wow, just wow. Hopefully there is a pathway to a second quota that Burgener can then take, but I have no idea how it works in snowboarding.
  23. Meanwhile, the Houthi's have apparently bombed Palestina with a ballistic missile. They were probably 'aiming' for Israel (as far as they have the technology to actually aim, which seems unlikely if everything of the past hours is any indication), but hit a Palestine town.
  24. Meanwhile, a bit of a (of course not really, but it sounds like) sarcastic reaction sent from probably the deepest bunker in the region:
  25. Meanwhile apparently around 100 drones are on the way from Iran to Israel. If last time is any indication, they're really more of a small and especially slow nuisance that take several hours to get there, before being mostly shot down - maybe a couple will fall down in some remote area or something, but they're rather unlikely to do any actual damage.
