  1. Yes, and if Yellowstone erupts tomorrow there might not even be people alive by 2021 anymore. Both are not so likely though.
  2. No geoblock here https://sport-tv.by/hokkey-ekstraliga-345
  3. No! It very much does not say so. It says they were tested, that is entirely different.
  4. I did read about two cases of human-to-human transmission. But 1) that's on Wikipedia, so you never know and 2) that's a rather rare situation if true at all, so they could be mistaken for human-to-human or be extremely rare exceptions.
  5. Good, I really hope that works well. If not, that is an absolute recipe for disaster and even war-like situations if people run out of the food they've got left at home..
  6. Again from China? The fuck are they doing there? Although let's first see how bad this is. It does sound quite a bit less threatening so far. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthohantavirus
  7. No Olympic athlete, but since I doubt non-Olympic athletes who die should have an own thread (or not be mentioned at all), here it is. Croatian former kickboxer Branko Cikatic has died. He was the very first winner of the prestigious and sadly defunct K-1 World Grand Prix, with an awesome knockout of Ernesto Hoost (who fell down to the floor stiff as a board) in the final. He also coached, among others, combat sports great Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic after his own active career. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branko_Cikatić
  8. Not only young athletes, Moradi seems like an excellent example of an athlete for who this could potentially be a gift from whichever heaven you believe in (putting aside qualification issues for a moment)
  9. Including things like supermarkets and food delivery like in one of the states mentioned here earlier?
  10. True, and I do get it from a financial perspective, but it's just gonna be extra weird to have the 2020 Olympic champions not take their titles in 2020 (and not because of doping bans ).
  11. @phelps @hckosice You guys still ok? If so, there is live ice hockey today, game 7 in the finals in Belarus! I know there is a stream, I'll try and find it when I'm at my laptop.
  12. A not all-caps thread title as well, it's absolute anarchy. My first name is going to be Arno Kamminga. He might have already been a serious medal contender though, since he's been swimming incredibly fast in the breast stroke in the past few months. However, as he said himself, he has never made a big final yet and with another year to go, I think he's going for a medal in Tokyo
  13. We all know by now: the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are going ahead, but they'll be held in 2021. It's a little confusing, but never mind, here we are. This sucks for athletes in their last planned year of their career, who will either have to postpone retirement and try and stay fit for another year or will miss out on their Olympic chance altogether - specifically sad for athletes who hadn't competed at Olympics yet, those who did at least already have an experience most athletes won't get. There's enough negativity though, so on to the brighter side: plenty of young athletes are good at the moment, but possibly not quite good enough yet to be considered serious medal contenders. So here we are, which athletes - who currently can't really be considered main favourites - do you think will benefit most and improve so much they are main favourites come Tokyo 2020, in 2021?
  14. Next year? No way, we've still got a full year of sports we can't watch ahead of us!
  15. Of 355 towns/cities/administrative regions/municipalities, my little town has moved up from 28th to 24th in terms of number of cases per 100.000 inhabitants (22 cases in roughly 27k inhabitants). At least something we're scoring high in other than the number of votes for the Christian extremists Both are not very good
  16. Yeah but I mean, why a mass? What's the point of broadcasting a mass every day? I don't know what exactly will come itself, but being obligated to wear a face mask as soon as you leave your garden probably isn't one of the things. Even if it is, I barely have to leave it anyway and like I said, we've got a garden that's big enough to entertain ourselves relatively freely (without masks or whatever, since it's our private ground) and get some exercise in if needed (I could run back and forth for a good while, or we play badminton ). Of course it would be way harder if you don't have a garden and/or live in an appartment or something.
  17. 20 March: +534 cases, +30 deaths 21 March: +637 cases, +30 deaths 22 March: +573 cases, +43 deaths 23 March: +545 cases, +34 deaths Seems like we had reached some sort of a peak, although only a few days are of course not much of a sample to draw conclusions on.
  18. Right, it's official, no Olympics in 2020 and it's postponed to 2021. And so, @Sindo, could we just get it over with and at least change the 'Tokyo 2020', '2020 Summer Olympics' etc in thread titles to 2021? Let's be frontrunners for a change and do it on the day IOC announced it.
  19. Any decision will always be bad for some and good for others. Older athletes might have their chance go up in smoke, or at least be made harder, while younger athletes who are decent but not absolute elite right now might be serious medal contenders in a year.
  20. Why is broadcasting some religious thing every day something that has to be ordered by the state? If these measures would ever come here, I'm happy we have a pretty big garden where of course it's safe to walk around without masks or people touching you and stuff
