  1. Thanks for bringing it to my/our attention though, it is at the very least better to receive this big blow relatively early than in November or something when the season is about to start. Next challenge: getting through this disappointment and rescheduling the season that had been - in big lines - schedules this week.
  2. Their 21st, but not 18th birthday? Yeah she's looking into it already at the moment, messages have already been sent and now it's a matter of waiting (but it would be no surprise at all if the Brazilian federation(s) had no clue about this..). It would be a really massive blow, but at least that would mean full focus on the world championships.
  3. Here it is now illegal to rob stores without a mask.
  4. Yeah I understood it's only for during this crisis But I mean (it's not criticism, it's only curiousity) is this only for fathers (so, males) or also for a woman who's partner is giving birth (as in, a lesbian couple getting a child)?
  5. Is this specifically for fathers only? Or also for women who's partner is giving birth?
  6. Can we take over this rule and - just to make sure the virus doesn't come back - keep it in place for the next 75 years?
  7. Oh I would really not be sure about that. The Brazilian snow sports federation didn't even know the Olympic qualifying rules for 2018 in the pre-Olympic season (being convinced having two qualified athletes wouldn't be too hard). Any info would be very much welcome indeed.
  8. Wait, that'd be pretty big indeed, because as far as I know the Brazilian university sports federation has already said she's eligible. It seems rather weird to change those rules and let them go into effect immediately, while plenty of athletes might already have been planning for them? This sudden change would suck big time, one might say..
  9. Oh my, the suspense during Yip's lead attempt! That, and the way it ended, is going on my list of favourite 2020 sports moments (it would have been there also if 2020 actually had more than 2,5 months of sports ).
  10. I'm no expert, but especially Lyu Xiaojun's performance seems very impressive considering he's only slightly above the weight limit, as opposed to many others, and he still set absolute world class results. Hou Zhihui was pretty close to her world championships silver medal weight and was even inside the weight limit. Wang Zhouyu even surpassed her gold medal winning world championships score and was way under the weight limit, impressive (even though I'm guessing women's 87kg is not nearly as competitive yet as men's 81kg). Very interesting to see, especially to have the actual body weights included!
  11. Someone like Hadadi, I think so too. But it could be the opposite for endurance athletes, who if I'm not mistaken often have a rather weak immune system..
  12. A function that can also be used not for quotes only, but to post entire articles and only post the link and/or headline outside of the spoiler.
  13. Commentator Charlie Bosco isn't really good at keeping track of the live scores, is he? I'm watching the women's final now and the first three women have finished the lead section. Aguado is at the moment on 14 points (2nd in speed, 7th in boulder, 1st in lead), Rojas on 16 points (1st, 8th, 2nd) and Bosco said "that means Rojas is now out of contention for the Olympic ticket". That's just bullshit though! Only one climber needs to pass Aguado and then Rojas has passed her (Aguado would for example go from 14 to 28 by moving from 1st to 2nd in lead, while Rojas would move from 16 to 24 - and ahead of her - by moving from 2nd to 3rd in lead). Is it really that impossible to simply have a little Excel sheet to follow along?
  14. Apparently a federal judge in Rio de Janeiro basically said 'screw you' to Bolsonaro and turned back his utterly idiotic decision of saying religious services are a 'vital thing' and so had to remain allowed. Thankfully at least someone, being of course that judge, had...you know, a mind.
  15. Meanwhile, the German Air Force is taking in even more Italian patients - from Bergamo, specifically - into their own hospitals. At least Germany has the capacity to do so (for now), plenty of countries very simply don't.
  16. Dutch beer maker Bavaria is going to collect tanks of beer from bars, pubs and so on that had to close down for now. The beer can't be kept good forever, so Bavaria is going to collect it and turn it into disinfectant - adding water and glycerine (to keep hands from dehydrating) to the beer's alcohol. RIP Dutch Seamus
  17. Which is in no way a problem. It's easy to do at most regular bookmakers and you only need to have a few euros/pounds/whatever in your account usually.
  18. Spain reporting 552 new deaths in their morning update alone.
  19. That's all good and well, but you simply can't do mass testing when there are not enough reliable (key word is reliable) tests available. Because other countries have bought them all, because companies creating them either can't keep up or refuse to share things that might make their profit a bit smaller, and so on..
  20. Climbing, after having finished the OQT, now it's time for Pan-American championships
  21. +3000 in Iran, +2500 (nearly) in Germany and with some other countries the number of new cases of today is over 9000...with of course most big ones (USA, Spain, Italy, France etc) still to come..
  22. Dude (in b4 "I know how to write it but I am lazy so I'll write extra characters") World Games 2021 seem pretty likely to be moved, they already don't get much attention and being so close to the Olympics would just be dumb. Both Universiades happening at the planned dates? I don't see it, especially the summer version..
