    Makes sense, to be fair...of all possible locations, one would assume Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are no-brainers not to have negotiations.

    Well, technically those are of course Russian troops as well (as he'd probably argue).....but yeah, that's basically Putin's mad dog being unchained. On the bright side, today's reports are that one of their major warlords has already been killed in action. Maybe they're less scary when they're the attackers instead of the Spartan-like defenders?

    I don't really care, whatever gives the biggest chance to have the highest number of participants. If that asks for a very much understandable postponement, than that's absolutely fine I'd say. will be in no matter what will be done with the contest

    And the Dutch were going to bring a whole bunch of Stingers, but Germany blocked that at first. Luckily the Germans gave in and now accepted it..

    Exactly. This whole thing of negotiating is just nonsense. Why 'negotiate', which probably means you'll have to give up things, when you're the one being attacked from all sides?

    They did not, and (rightfully, of course) voted to condemn Russia. For what it's worth.

    They won't happen though, since FIS cancelled all remaining World Cup events in all of their sports in Russia.

    One might assume not starting would hurt their careers in some way, I don't think it's much of their own choice.

    For what it's worth, a very large majority of people (at least here) is very much in favour of all these sanctions meant to isolate Russia economically and such, but yeah....politicians decide, unfortunately..

    Call it fair, call it unfair, but the Baltic states are NATO members, unlike Ukraine, and so an attack on them will without a doubt be treated differently. Without adding an opinion to that, that's simply how it is. If they were not NATO members, Putin would have long ago gotten them..

    Provoking other countries into doing something, in some way? No idea, but Russia of course doesn't need some old nuclear power plant since they've got their own stuff and Ukraine has had it and probably didn't do much with it, so simply having Chernobyl doesn't bring much of an advantage...

    Meanwhile reports are that Russia is trying to take control (by fighting, obviously) of the Chernobyl exclusion zone. Fantastic. Stupid West for making Russia do that
