  1. Col d'Aspin, the location of this bit of comedy Too bad it's a bit of a junior stage today..
  2. What a fantastic session that was Dos Santos
  3. Yeah that second throw very much helped of course That one also put Hall back to bronze, which she can't really lose if she doesn't get injured or something. Hall does have a tiny chance for silver and gold left, but she'll need Thiam and Vetter to be too much focused on each other. Most likely podium is Thiam, Vetter, Hall I'd say, unless Vetter for once manages to really pull of something big (for her) on the 800m.
  4. Vetter throwing her hat back in the fight for the top medals.
  5. If Hall can run a 'normal' 800m (compared to this year), she is well on her way to potential silver. Thiam will need at least a decent last two events to hold her off of gold.
  6. This first javelin group in the heptathlon is a little...painful Most of them might as well save the energy of the run and just throw from a standing position, since they're not really transfering any speed into the throw anyway..
  7. Or just not show the ranking at all, since it adds nothing and is much less valuable information than the PB and especially SB
  8. It's a tad annoying that the graphics with the world rankings, show the world rankings for the athletes in the individual events in the heptathlon, which is useless, instead of their heptathlon ranking.
  9. BBC commentator pronounced the ß as a b, "Weebenburg"
  10. Gebrselase with the win, and Radcliffe out of the championship record books Bronze for Salpeter
  11. Women's marathon is underway, let's go Salpeter
  12. Like the Dutch commentator said about Argentina, I believe somewhere after the 1-0 when a rather unnecessary foul on a Dutch player was made: "They are losing their cool quickly now." That's a shame, and kind of prevented an enjoyable final...(especially for Argentina of course)
  13. With a lot of the goals coming from a lucky mess Netherlands was extremely lucky when it was still 1-1, Switzerland had two huge chances for 1-2 within a few seconds and somehow managed to hit the goalkeeper and the woodwork.
  14. That's nearly 400 people who might as well hand in their badges and weapons immediately, since they are not at all worthy of carrying them.
  15. Well that was a bit of a disappointing evening session, with Parchment and the false starts and a bit of a mediocre pole vault final Luckily the final few shot put throws and the women's 100m made up for it.
  16. Nearly missed the podium positions because the Belgian commentator was going nuts for 25 minutes about Kimeli still being in the lead group
  17. Might be because there's two of them
  18. The Netherlands had female 400m runners of any kind of international level before the current generation?
  19. Anyone knows why Brooke Andersen's 4th throw was invalid? She definitely didn't step out of the circle and the hammer definitely landed inside the lines. Edit: they looked at it and now it's legal, measured and good for 1st place.
  20. One Champion Allison in the 400m heats, talk about a spoiler
  21. After two full days and a bit, including a weekend day, I think we can conclude that a lot of people solve this problem by simply not going to the stadium For a Track Town USA, the overall feel is disappointingly....unenthousiastic. Time to go to Nairobi.
  22. Apparently he got a mental blow at the start: made the wrong choice of shoes, which he realized when everyone else was on different shoes, but he didn't have another pair with him.
