  1. I guess we'll have to wait and see then. I definitely hope we'll see him in action, it would severely devaluate the event if he can't start.
  2. Yeah because who wants to see official results and stuff, useless! By the way, this quote from Delta State's governor when they were awarded the hosting rights last year
  3. I very much hope the IAAF's site is wrong.. Any chance he might not be eligible for IAAF competitions, but it's no problem for a European Athletics competition?
  4. I'm almost afraid to ask, but is there some sort of results/timing website?
  5. Like he would get to Asaba anyway
  6. Right, in that case I guess it's not gonna be difficult at all for Brazil. It'd be an awesome way for Raiza Goulão to get some redemption after her incredible ride in the Brazilian champs earlier this month (where she had no chance to win because of a mechanical at the worst possible moment after a few minutes).
  7. There we go I guess. At least if there's a South American championships and not just a Pan-American one
  8. I know it's early Which other ways are we talking about?
  9. Hold on, as it's standing now, Brazil can send 0 women?
  10. Great, Sir Mister Excellence His Highness Sebastian Coe has arrived in Asaba, no problem, we can start tomorrow!
  11. Lagos has a relatively easy to reach airport, that would make it much harder to mess up the organization.
  12. No, this sounds really promising: "Let's organise a major event with many hundreds of athletes! Stadium? Check." The week before the event: "Oooooooh crap, we forgot there are no scheduled flights to our crappy airport with a runway in drastic need of repair." Luckily when charter aircraft are called up in a hurry and transfers are handled on a 'first-come-first-served' basis, there is absolutely no expectation for fights and stuff getting out of hand badly. Oh wait, that is exactly what everyone would see coming from a thousand miles away.
  13. Good job by Nigeria, they're already way ahead, I thought the organizational problems were scheduled to start tomorrow.
  14. This should go in the OP
  15. [hide] Knockout Round July 30th - August 5th, 2018 12 Nations, Quarterfinals Play-Offs, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Bronze Medal Match, Gold Medal Match Quarterfinals #1 Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 August 1st 2018, h. 18:00 Germany 2 Spain August 1st 2018, h. 20:15 Australia 2 Argentina [/hide]
  16. Which is why simply posting a link to for example a website of the Polish federation would be helpful as well, there is indeed no need to copy-paste almost a hundred athletes here I think
  17. What's being said in the news here the past two days about this is that apparently it's quite popular among (cycling) tourists. And usually considered quite safe as well, although not as safe as Turkmenistan.
  18. Smaller teams have absolutely no effect on the race being more interesting. If anything, it shifts focus even more on controlling the race. Lose the headsets and add salary caps, fine. I don't see the reason to ban power meters, unless much more 'accepted' stuff like meters showing your speed or heart rate are banned as well (which would be odd, I think).
  19. I hate this so much, but it is so good
  20. Sean Newcomb had a no-hitter messed up yesterday for the Atlanta Braves against the LA Dodgers......with only one more out needed
  21. The full Dutch team has been announced: https://www.knhs.nl/nieuws/2018/nederlandse-paardensportteams-fei-wereldruiterspelen-bekend/
  22. What a match
  23. You see? This is exactly what happens when the world's best players pull that shit on the world's biggest stage (the World Cup). Thank you Neymar.
  24. A classics specialist turned mountain beast, someone with 0 weak days in 6 weeks of hardcore GC racing and the best Giro-Tour double since Marco Pantani (haha), someone with 5675th illnesses, a ski jumper and Nicholas Brody in the top-5. This was fun
  25. Time for the final
