    Honestly it wasn't really a joke. I hope it is not the case, but this might have ruined her knee and leg so badly, and kind of permanently.

    Genuinely not sure what I'd hate more, the remains of my knee being absolutely fucked to nothingness or hanging at the end of a rope under a helicopter at that altitude.

    At least I think we can already write down who is going to light the Olympic flame in 2034. Only question is if she'll be standing or sitting.

    Sure, but that is still different than a full speed race run. It's not without reason lots of people were saying this might be medically irresponsible if she was indeed as badly injured as she made it sound like.

    That knee is making more turns than Vonn did during her race, ouch.

    But there's nothing to see now, other than a group of people around someone. It's not like they're wearing body cams so we can see the actual treatment.

    Quite a decent comparison someone made: this is kind of like an F1 driver starting the race despite having a flat tyre on the grid, and then...yeah, he's gonna crash out in the first turn.

    Finally, the 'only X to go until Vonn' countdown can stop

    Commentator all the time not realizing Johnson was incredibly fast in the last 30 seconds or so and being slightly faster than her after a minute doesn't really mean much yet.

    It is so unnecessary in luge or speed skating

    I've watched all World Cups for years and am still not used to it It should be technically so super easy to just filter out that sound, or replace it with sound from a different camera or something.

    I think so too. Mostly I am somewhat tired of Vonn being almost literally the only one anyone is talking about in regards to alpine skiing. There are other athletes, you know.

    On social media she stressed it was 100% torn, not 50 or 80%. Uhum. I have no doubt she is competing with pain, but she is certainly not the only one.
