  1. So does saying the side that resorts to physical violence is any less to blame than the side that's a pathetic and provoking attention whore who feels the need to burn other people's symbols. The whole 'they are more stupid, no they are more stupid' thing makes it sound like one of both sides is being even remotely reasonable. Which they're not.
  2. Yeah, that! Curious in a positive way though, I'd like arriving after a long travel and immediately be offered something to eat
  3. What I find more curious is the whole 'welcome to Slovakia, here's some bread and you. Will. Eat. It.'
  4. I'm pretty much used to doing that anyway, just because I'd find it terribly annoying if someone walks around with dirty shoes in my house, so it feels only normal to also make sure I don't do the exact same thing I hate to someone else
  5. Googleing doesn't provide an answer, who is Vergani?
  6. Yes, but surely if you use one hand for receiving something in Korea you're not gonna get physically attacked? What's the eye contact part in Japan btw? You can't make eye contact when talking? I agree though, have some respect for each other's values, and if someone breaks it, either just tell them (maybe they didn't know, although of course that's not the case when someone burns a specific book, but in other situations) or ignore it and go on with your own life. And rule one: don't go and shit on someone's values on purpose 'just because'.
  7. Yes, which is why I said the people burning a book to provoke people and/or make a statement are just as idiotic. It's all just so unnecessary, burning books that have meaning to other people, attacking people who burn books, etc. Get a life, both sides.
  8. It's still a book. Bullshit to go and burn it, bullshit to go and attack people who burn it. If person A burns a book and person B goes batshit crazy and attacks because of it, both people are just idiots.
  9. There's just so much stupidity in all of this. 1. Burning books just to provoke people 2. Getting all mad and attacking because someone burned one of a gazillion copies of a book
  10. To be fair, that does sound a bit more important than posting your votes (although personally I'd just do that another day, since the dead won't mind if you're a day early or late, but yeah).
  11. Around 55 minutes after the meeting: "Sorry guys, I think the chicken I had for lunch didn't go well.....I'll spare you the details but I really need to go for a few minutes." *goes to bathroom* *picks phone and posts votes* "Whew, that's better, continue."
  12. That should fit right before dinner, excellent
  13. 'Twas a wild night.
  14. And just 12 minutes ago on a Dutch forum someone posted the exact same stream with a message saying "For those interested, a SpaceX rocket is about to be launched in a few minutes"
  15. Where is the list of who will vote at which time?
  16. The cat-hat looks kinda afraid. Like, seriously afraid. As if someone is standing right there with a rifle aimed at it.
  17. When you apparently change your YT thumbnail after a while to announce your video got 30+ million views, you love yourself so much
  18. How about tangerine juice? Yeah, getting in the mood for Saturday
  19. No and by the way, that's known as a drink for old people
  20. Nope, I've tried coca cola (duh), tea, ouzo and caipirinha of those on the list
  21. But you posted it 2 or 3 days ago. The launch was most definitely not 2 or 3 days ago. Those channels just keep repeating the same launches over and over again in their 'live' stream No worries, it got me confused plenty of times as well
  22. Already cheering for the Netherlands at the women's World Cup, thanks
  23. Every region has and/or had religions where people were praying to rocks or cows or trees or monkeys or water or fire or anything
  24. To be fair, this does sound kind of 'Dutch': blooming much later, probably because for young athletes there's still a ton of people who keep telling them (and rightfully so in my opinion) they shouldn't go 100% for their sports career, but also make sure they've got some serious education to fall back on.
  25. Something from an unknown date (I assume the 1970 mentioned is wrong, since it's talking about events in the 90s and 00s, but with time travel technology one can never be too sure): https://resource.wur.nl/nl/show/Nationaal-kampioene-stopt-met-ritmische-gymnastiek.htm It's about a triple Dutch champion retiring. It says she became Dutch champion in 2000 for the first time, winning all events, and a year later doing the same. However, KNGU (gymnastics federation) then decided to stop the whole rhythmic gymnastics national team to focus all resources in women's artistic gymnastics. Van Montfoort says her coach (a Bulgarian who was world champion herself) got fired and she had to go train at her local team. She and some others kept on going because the 2003 world champs were supposed to be held in the Netherlands, but eventually they retired.
