I would say they could chose training in other group which did not have training camps in the Crimea. In each case they (sent by federation / decided themselves) they crossed the border illegally in terms of the international law. And they got illegal advantage over their potential opponents at the competitions in terms of the sport. By the way - we TAS/CAS decision that clearly states that if some athlete is used in pro-war propaganda due to his actions - it does not matter if he did it intentionally fully understanding this. Russian cross-country federation uses group system. So before the start of the new season (in March, for example) the federation adopts the the training groups - each for one top-coach. Each coach proposes his own training plan and training camps. So it means that Borodavko`s group which traditionally includes most top-sliers went to the Crimea. Other 3 or 4 groups decided to have training camps elsewhere. The transfers between the groups are also to be approved by the federation. Later they send this squads to the ministry of sport for the approval.

FIS decision on russian athletes at 2026 is postponed and expected at the 21th of October. It makes their potential qualification rather difficult because there atr only 3 stages to get qualification points in cross-countrt: Ruka, Trondheim and Davos. And it is questionable talking about visas. Other ski and snowboard sports are on hold too but their qualification deadlines are later.

There are some rumours that is looking for a new partner and they are trying Marco Zandron But I doubt if they have time to change his sport nationality

He is in the past. It looks like he would not get a spot in russian natioal team fror the major event. Yes, and it is a pity that the geograpy of ski decreased last 25 years. I rememver times when Italian relay was on the top over Norway, when Estonia was a big power, when Finland had more then 1 top-skier, our Shevchenkp was fightng for the Globe, Canada was strong in sprints. And now even Sweden is struggling in men`s events...

Ukraine just lost 4 judokas. Lytvinenko switched for UAE, 2 youngsters for Slovenia and 1 for Poland. All of them have good perspectives and I expect medals for them next years. All of them live abroad due to the war so we could hardly keep them.

Yes, she had minor injury but it rather looks like the lack of emotions after winning all last year. We could expect medals from Kokhan (with this result he would win a medal at every previous WCH) and Doroshuk. They were close and it is not about weak performance. It is about high level of competitions.
