  1. As I said during the first session, I came to this edition without any expectations. The most popular songs in Spain right now are not very interesting and I wanted to show something different of the Spanish culture. After searching for a while, I decided to go with a folk song in Galician, one of our three official regional languages (Galego, Català and Euskera/Basque) that was very close to represent us in Eurovision this year. To be honest I did not think this kind of music would be that appealing, but I am very happy with the result. I want to say thanks to all the jurors who voted for Tanxugueiras and also to everybody who took their time to listen to Terra: 12 - @kungshamra71 12 - @IoNuTzZ 12 - @Olympian1010 @dezbee2008 12 - @Illya 11 - @NikolaB 10 - @konig 10 - @Wanderer 10 - @justony 9 - @rybak 9 - @Belle 9 - @amen09 4 - @titicow 9 - @Federer91 5 - @Griff88 5 - @Hipooo 5 - @Ionoutz24 4 - @Benolympique @Bohemia 4 - @Fly_like_a_don 4 - @Ruslan 3 - @mrv86 1 - @Finnator123 And big thanks to our host @Vektor for organizing everything so perfectly. This was only my sixth edition participating but I can already imagine how difficult it has to be to prepare such enormous amount of templates, information, draws... I know I will not be as good host as you have been these weeks, but I can promise I will do my best to host the next edition... WELCOME TO ESPAÑA 2023! I can't forget to congratulate both @Cinnamon Bun@Quasit and @OlympicIRL for their medals. I have no idea how Tanxugueiras have finished above Ed Sheeran, but I guess that's the magic of this contest. And with this victory my next goal will be getting some points from and . After 6 editions these are the only 2 countries that I have never managed to receive a single point from (excluding Norway and those who only participated once) .
  2. We are 4 points away of beating our national record. 4 juries to go..
  3. Mamawh Chhanna Lal Isua was a great song and it was original compared to the other songs of the edition. Personally, I found your entry of this edition pretty standard and while I was listening for the first time it didn't stand out.
  4. Thanks for the 12 points @dezbee2008and @Olympian1010! I didn't expect that. However of this last session I only see France, Israel and Slovakia as potential jurors giving points to Tanxugueiras, so I don't think will make it to the top3 by the end of the session. Edit: Thanks @Hipooo! I didn't expect you were going to like this song.
  5. And after this I expect a very slow decline until the end of the contest. But it is great to be the 1st to break the 100 points barrier. I will leave to watch some tennis and football. Good luck!
  6. Thanks @kungshamra71! For those who live outside of Iberia, Galician and Portuguese have the same origin and they can understand each other perfectly. They are also very close culturally. I totally recommend visiting northern Portugal and Galicia. It's an amazing place.
  7. I think that 22 juries are more than enough. Can we stop the count, please?
  8. Serbia is the country with the most points given to Spain (47 in the last 6 editions). It is also the 2nd silver medal after Open 2019. Thanks @NikolaB! It's a nice timing for Serbia because Djokovic just won the 1st set against Alcaraz .
  9. After the 1st half Spain has 75 points. Our national record goes back to Open 2017, when Enrique Iglesias got 151 points. Will Tanxugueiras improve that? I don't think so considering the remaining countries. I will also use this break to give you some stats about my votings. This is the 6th edition in which I am participating, so I only have information about the last 6. Colombia, Brazil, Great Britain, Tunisia and Poland received points from me for the first time. Italy has always received points. It is closely followed by Portugal (5), that did not receive any points this year (I'm not a huge fan of national team songs). Argentina, Canada, China, Hungary, India, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands and USA got points 3 times each. Malta had never received a medal from Spain. It is the 13th country to be in the top3. Only France, Portugal and Italy have more than one medal in these 6 editions. Ireland only got points 2 times but finished as first reserve 3 more times, including this year.
  10. I'm half Catalan and half Andalusian, but I have some family in Galicia so I got used to the language. This year all the hits in Spain were reggaeton and I wanted to send something different, so I followed the idea of @kungshamra71of sending songs in other languages and tbh I was not expecting to get more than 50 points. I had doubts about sending Terra (the song that is participating) or Figa, in case you want to listen to this. It was their 1st hit outside of Galicia.
  11. I think it's quite unlikely that @koniggave the 12 to GB this time.
  12. Go Győr Rivers! I think this 1st session will be the best for so we will need good points for to make it to the next round.
  13. As a curiosity, the first 3 songs of the ranking were already in my playlist before the contest. In fact, the Italian song is right now very high on Spanish charts because of this version of Ana Mena, who participated in San Remo this year: This time my reserves were Ireland, Kazakhstan and Lithuania. As always, it was difficult to allocate the last points.

  15. Any guesses for my 12 points? It might be a surprise... or maybe not.
