  1. New Zealand just destroyed Sri Lanka... official score is " NZL win by 10 wickets"... the explaination for those not exactly familiar with that kind of scoring system is simple...Sri Lanka batted first and scored only 136 points before all of their batters were eliminated (in only 29 overs out of the possible 50), then came the Kiwis and scored 137 points in just 16 overs, with no batsmen eliminated...therefore there was no need to go further and the match ended well in advance of the "limits" it could have reached if needed...
  2. Men's C1 Gold: Benjamin Savsek (98.59) Silver: Martin Thomas (99.38) Bronze: Sideris Tasiadis (100.77)

  7. Yes, but it's quite a long time that Tatiana is representing Brazil in the WSL...so, I didn't count her among those looking for a new passport just to make it for the Tokyo Olympics... more than anything, I expected some Spanish-speaking Central and South Americans trying to go for Spain, but at the moment it doesn't look the case (and I think Italian shopping is also over)...
  8. even if I read about many surfers switching Nationality, right now, I don't see any true big name trying to go for a different Nation than their usual... among the WSL men and women, the only one who could do it (Nikki Van Dijk could easily start for the Netherlands), has not done it... and I don't see any Brazilian trying to go for Portugal, too... among the lower levels of competition, the only thing I know is that Italy has enrolled 3 girls with clear Italian heritage but born and raised abroad (veteran Claire Bevilacqua from AUS; Giada Legati who's half Italian, half French and lives in Bali; Emily Gussoni from CRC)...
  9. actually, Fioravanti had the same result as Bourez in Bali...so also the gap between them remained the same... unfortunately for Italy, then Fioravanti injured himself yesterday in Western Australia @ the Margaret River Pro and left our Country basically without representation at the top level (even if one of our 3 "bought" female surfers could make a miracle at next year's ISA World Champs and still put the Italian Flag among the Tokyo participants, although I think it's gonna be really improbable)... I don't know how severe this injury is in surfing terms and if it leaves Fioravanti's qualification chances still on the table at the same ISA Worlds from next year...

  11. yeah, but in the women's event there were very low expectations...it's the men's epee that was really disappointing, as Di Veroli is arguably the most talented young epee fencer in the world since many years and Vismara also already achieved podium places in the senior world cup... however, this is a really low key event...nobody really makes any fine tuning for this...

  18. tbh, here in Italy this sport always has live tv coverage on our public sport channel (also this EChs on Sunday)... and I'm pretty sure the Italian TV is not the only one following this champs... moreover, I guess everybody around the world can still watch the entire event in streaming (or at least the finals, for sure)...
  19. are you not going to watch the Stanley Cup finals?
  20. and here we go..."6" number #1 & #2 back-to-back for Chris...
  21. great start for West Indies bowling (or awful start for Pakistan batting, it depends on your own point of view)... and now Chris Gayle already looking ready to destroy Pakistan's bowlers... it's only game #2 of the entire tournament, but it's already a good candidate to become the quickest match of the whole 2019 CWC...
  22. it looks quite a god morning for Italy (racing in Luzern with the full A-team)... as usual, only the senior Singles and the men's Eight don't look so effective...
  23. 2019 World Cup, Stage #6 (Munich, GER) Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol Gold: India 1 (Manu Bhaker & Saurabh Chaudhary) Silver: Ukraine 1 (Olena Kostevych & Oleh Omelchuk) Bronze: China 2 (Wang Qian & Wang Meng Yi)
  24. this is still simple...you can also read it as 311/8 to 207/10 (the comparison is still done by the most number of runs scored -the losing side not having written the "/10" part only because it's tacit that they are stopped once all of their batsmen are eliminated)... it's when the winning side is the team batting second that things can be even nastier...in that case the final score is recorded as "the team X wins by N wickets" (without even looking at the number of runs scored by both teams), which could prove a bit complicated to explain to those who don't follow this sport closely enough...
