  1. no streaming for the Ranking Round...only livescoring... https://info.ianseo.net/
  2. my mistake...I read his previous PB on the Italian Federation's website as 1.20.19, meanwhile the IAAF's site is the correct one... however, you're also right when you say that improving 2 and a half minutes or 3 minutes is roughly the same... the only thing I can say, it's that he's 27, but, as often happens with our athletes, he's athletically a lot younger than that...he started to be a professional only about 3 years ago, so I guess there's still some margin in cases like that... however, if there's something wrong with him, only time will tell...especially for what concerns certain disciplines, I don't trust anybody anymore...I only take notice of what happens (still, I enjoy watching the competitions, doped atheltes or not it doesn't really matter...if everybody starts on the same line...you know what I mean)...
  3. my picks... KOR, JPN, CHN, TUR, FRA, IND, USA and NED will qualify for Tokyo 2020... and as we have Japan in the top 8, I guess there will be also a wonderful tournament for the 9th place (or will that spot be reallocated? )...
  4. disaster, absolute disaster for Italy...it couldn't have gone worse... preliminary round against the always tricky and dangerous Malaysia and then, if we're good enough to get until there, the Olympic play-off in the 1/8 finals against CHN, the worst possible opponent for us... good bye, Tokyo... no need to make any comment on the good score by Nespoli, because in any case he's gonna lose as always in the 1st round of the knock-out stage... meanwhile Pasqualucci and Galiazzo... p.s. but why Galiazzo is still there???
  5. he's trying, but he's not going...he's 76th after 66 arrows (and he's the man who's keeping our team in the dangerous pack between 8th and 15th place)... p.s. he's Galiazzo, without that "g"...
  6. wow! awful game by the Blues... they had the big opportunity to clinch their first ever Stanley Cup at home, but they wasted everything big time... since the beginning of the game, I started to doubt they could do it, as I couldn't see the determination, the sense of urgency, the adrenaline running through their veins, the famous "eye of the tiger"... they just played an ordinary, sloppy game for 42 minutes...and when Carlo scored that (in)famous second goal for Boston (thanks to an unforgivable mistake by Binnington, who wasn't absolutely focused enough at the moment of Carlo's shot), it was all over... the darkness of the night came down on STL and Boston easily took the game home to ensure themselves the chance of playing the decisive game #7 at home... and they also equalled the NHL record for the biggest number of players who scored at least 1 goal in the playoffs in the same season (21, tied with the 1987 Philadelphia Flyers) when Kuhlman netted the 3rd goal of the night for them... p.s. even the great captain, Zdeno Chara, despite his broken jaw, found the way to add his signature to the scoresheet, when he scored the last goal of the game in STL's empty net with about 1 minutes still on the clock... that's the right prize to an amazing player, a really tough man and a wonderful captain...
  7. after 54 arrows, in the individual standings we have the top 7 within 3 points only...I've never seen such a close race for the top places... meanwhile in the team event, the South Korean superiority is almost embarassing...Italy is always between the 8th and 10th place, but frankly it would be a lot better to end up 10th (even if it means we would have to shoot in the preliminary round) rather then 8th or 9th, so to avoid the match-up against our bete noir China in the 1/8 finals (the mostan important round of them all, meaning the olympic qualification if you can go through that) and a deadly possible match up with KOR in the quarterfinals (if we can get this far in the tournament)...

  11. it's no way near to the individual rankings for prestige and importance, but there's also a Nations Ranking by discipline... and this year's Boulder Nations Ranking was won by Japan (1693 Pts) ahead of Slovenia (1359 Pts) and France (766 Pts)... congrats to them... the Full Boulder Nations Ranking is here: https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php?option=com_ifsc&view=dr&layout=calendar&Itemid=102#!type=nat_team_ranking&cup=19_wc&cat=5,6

  14. and the clean sweep is complete! the lovely Janja does it again and now she's the first ever climber (male or female, it doesn't matter) to win all the competitions of a single discipline in an entire season...

  17. there's nothing weird...he was already 4th at last year's Europeans and quickly improving...basically this is only his 3rd season within the NT... and it's not that he won the race with 5 minutes margin over the other competitors...actually, he didn't even win the race and the top 8 are all within a minute or so (77 secs to be precise)... the time overall is not so significant...if you look at the entire results' list, you can see the Japanese guys at 1h17mins too and a bunch of people at 1h18mins...and if you look at the women's race also, it's obvious that it was a run race and not a race walking competition...probably the judges were still doing their "siesta" at the time of the race... p.s. however, he improved said PB by "only" 2 minutes and 34 seconds, not "more than 3 minutes"...

  19. no exxageration at all...for what I saw, all 3 penalties repeated in this playoff round were stopped more than correctly (especially the Korean goalie against SEN in regulation yesterday night did just a small lateral step before launching himself on his side to stop the shot)... I repeat, I'm totally against this attitude and this utilization of VAR, which instead should be allowed only and exclusively on situations like goal/not goal, ball in, ball out, off-sides (only in case of goals and/or penalties resulting from that given action), sanctions given to the wrong players and evaluations of episodes of violence...nothing else (or just take the refs out and put a robot with clear inputs on the pitch)...
  20. yes, today only 2 weight classes are on stage, so they start a little later than the previous days...
  21. Disaster, absolute disaster for Italy... this is the first time since the opening stage of the 2017 season that Italy do not appear at all in the medal table of a Karate Global competition... very encouraging in the Olympic perspective...
