  1. Fencing FIE World Cup 2019 - 2020 Multi-Stage Event - 1 November 2019 - 8 March 2020 Official Website
  2. my quick summary... - depressing athmosphere in the stadium (except for the last 2 days) and outside the stadium (always)... - running the long distance competitions at midnight and still having to cope with crazy uncomfortable conditions and putting at risk the athletes' health...IAAF are only a bunch of criminals... - usual shameful judging in race walking...this events are more and more a farce...so, or they are going to immediately find the right way and change everything or it's better to get rid of it completely...right now, it's just a political distribution of medals... - quite a few boring competitions, dominated from start to finish by one athlete...that's not enjoyable at all as a neutral viewer (even if I understand a possible different POV by those emotionally involved in those events)... - the farce of the mixed relays... - the absolute farce of the NOP athletes, stronger than ever just when their "mastermind" is finally found guilty of any sort of disgraceful behaviour (with at least 15 years delay, but still)... + some absolutely wonderful competitions...doped or not, the protagonists of some of this championships' events have gifted us with some of the most entertaining and exciting races ever in their own disciplines... + the sport related infrastructure...we can say all the bad we want about the Gulf Nations, but man! the stadiums they've built are just wonderful and they've been able to make even these desertic lands fascinating...chapeau! for that... in conclusion, I'm a conservative, a traditionalist and a pure sport lover...so, I hope not to see anymore any sport event held in places like this, but I understand that "pecunia non olet" and therefore my wish is going to be disattended very soon and always more day after day... but still, nobody will change my memories and will make me change my mind...watching an Athletics World Championship in London or Paris or Berlin is just another thing, another experience (a lot more entertaining and exciting, of course)...
  3. Grand Slam (Brasilia, BRA) Day #1 Recap Nice setup for the last minute Grand Slam tournament in Brasilia... and nice clean sweep for the Home Nation among the men in the first day of action, thanks to Allan Kuwabara (-60kg) and Daniel Cargnin (-66kg)... meanwhile in the girls' classes, Brazil "only" got 3 Silver (and 2 Bronze) Medals in yesterday's 3 events... the Gold Medals, instead, went to Portugal (Catarina Costa, -48kg), Italy (Odette Giuffrida, -52kg) and Great Britain (Nekoda Smythe-Davis, -57kg) Full Results, here: http://www.ippon.org/gs_bra2019.php

  5. USA, JPN, CHN, UKR, SUI and GBR will surely top ITA and GER (unless they flop badly)... so GER have still 1 more "joker" within their cards and ITA are really on the edge... KOR are the most dangerous (for ITA, especially)...then NED and maybe CAN could make the Germans cry (but I don't think it will happen...today's top 5 will be in Tokyo...ITA...I really fear they won't)...
  6. yeah, i fixed my post...I thought it was over, but there were still the last gymnasts left... now we're really in danger of missing the qualification by 1 place (or 2)...
  7. Germany, Spain, Brazill..all ahead of Italy... I fear that by the end of tomorrow's subdivisions we will regret that Pommel Horse rotation very, very much...
  8. and don't forget the poor Lindon Victor, who was going to win a medal in Germany's beloved decathlon before throwing it out of the window with 3 NMs in the Discus Throw...
  9. now he's 5th... by the way, did you watch his routine? I fear he's been heavily underscored (I didn't watch, I only read a report from an Italian website, but generally they are too enthusiastic about gymnasts, so I don't know if it might be true or not?)... however, I think that starting in the first subdivision is cruel...it's almost impossible to sneak in into the apparatus finals...you really need to be a super-champion above all suspects, in order to be generously evaluated so early in the competition...
  10. 2019 Lead & Speed European Championships (Edinburgh, Scotland, GBR) women's Lead Gold: Lucka Rakovec Silver: Laura Rogora Bronze: Luce Douady Full Results: https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition/calendar#!comp=7992&cat=2 men's Lead Gold: Adam Ondra Silver: Alberto Ginès Lopez Bronze: Sascha Lehmann Full Results: Coming Soon (in any case, they are available at the end of the competition in the full video (at about 1h06mins)... Full Video of both Finals
  11. I know that...but I mean, with 2 of the best riders in the pack (in their best formation and shape), chances to do better than your more or less equal opponents increase...and by a lot... Italy never put themselves in those "top conditions" during this entire qualification process thanks to decisions that must be named at least "very dubious", if not "stupid" at all...that's their capital and unforgivable mistake...
  12. Ireland might be better than Italy (but imho it's still to be seen with both De Luca & Zorzi with their best horses and in top shape themselves, which means 2 safe 0 under any circumstance), but surely in Tokyo we're going to see teams that are definitely not as good as Italy... and this happens only because of Bartalucci and NF's bad choices and inability to make long term programs... if you add to this also all the Dressage troubles and shameful management, you can only take notice that FISE is an absolute disaster and needs to be completely turned around...
  13. Serious stuff Iran topped the Medal Table with 3 Gold Medals, followed by Azerbaijan with 2... France, Georgia, Japan, North Macedonia, Russia, Spain and Ukraine won 1 Gold Medal each... Side dish Spain (women) & Turkey (men) can add to their table also another Gold Medal, thanks to their win in the Team Kata events...

  16. game over! Italy flopped once again... beside today's mistakes, Bartalucci's decisions are just not understandable...through the entire last 2 years he has never put down the right formation... I just can't believe that we have never had De Luca and Zorzi with their best horses in the same team...Europeans, Nations' Cup final...never! hope he's getting fired soon...
  17. nice wins for Bottaro & Busà, but those who needed a victory the most, Semeraro and especially Crescenzo, lost badly their BM fight...so, once again, not the expected outcome for Italy also in this K1PL stage...
  18. Bronze Medals bouts are over in Moscow... this is a quick recap of how they went... women's Individual Kata Bronze: Viviana Bottaro & Hikaru Ono men's Individual Kata Bronze: Issei Shimbaba & Kazumasa Moto women's Team Kata Bronze: Malaysia & Russia "A" men's Team Kata Bronze: Spain & Malaysia women's Individual Kumite, -50kg Bronze: Li Ranran & Nurane Aliyeva women's Individual Kumite, -55kg Bronze: Wen Tzu-Yun & Shiori Nakamura women's Individual Kumite, -61kg Bronze: Jovana Prekovic & Yin Xiaoyan women's Individual Kumite, -68kg Bronze: Katrine Pedersen & Eda Eltemur women's Individual Kumite, +68kg Bronze: Sofya Berultseva & Maria Torres Garcia men's Individual Kumite, -60kg Bronze: Daulet Shymyrbekov & Kalvis Kalnins men's Individual Kumite, -67kg Bronze: Masamichi Funahashi & Didar Amirali men's Individual Kumite, -75kg Bronze: Luigi Busà & Bahman Askari men's Individual Kumite, -84kg Bronze: Jessie Dacosta & Denis Denisenko men's Individual Kumite, +84kg Bronze: Mehdi Filali ( Jonathan Horne & Vasilii Antokhii were both DQed because of a brawl after the ref's "Yame" = Stop!)
  19. I don't know how things actually went...I only read the final score (and being 5-5, I thought she lost by senshou...if she really lost only by hantei, it's even more painful...and suspicious)... more than weird...I found this part of the OQS really absurd...it would have been a lot simpler and fair to have only 4 quota through the ranking, 4 through the final tournament, 1 directly through the selected continental championships and 1 for the host Nation and everything would have been so clear and easy to understand...but no, thay had to make things so complicated (and somehow unfair)... p.s. yes, I saw that women's -61kg draw link doesn't work anymore...I was stuck with the semifinals' result and so I don't have any idea how repechage round went... thanks for revealing at least 1 of the repechage winners...
  20. he's a manger and the mastermind of his own organization... what this means, I don't know...maybe he's guilty of the worst crimes, maybe he's just a good manager... I don't have any clue to say more than that...surely, I don't trust him when he says that his athletes are clean...
  21. tbh, the Italians involved with African runners are only managers, not coaches nor doctors... however, I wrote about them when the discussion was about them... don't worry, I'm not going to defend any East African runner (nor any Italian politician, manager, coach or athlete involved with them that threatens the name of Italy with their shady actions)... actually, I feel weird that many people are asking for Kenia to be kicked out like Russia, when Ethiopia does exactly the same thing since they appeared on the world scene, but with better organization... but these days Salazar and his pupils are the frontrunners in the news and on the track and deserve to be mentioned when they do something suspicious, to say the least... p.s. Hassan is not suspicious...now she's in the class of the untrustables...
  22. making your average Chinese girl fed with blood turtle, rather... I'm starting thinkin' that Salazar is actually Ma Junren en travesty...
  23. 2019 Lead & Speed European Championships (Edinburgh, Scotland, GBR) women's Speed Gold: Aleksandra Miroslaw Silver: Mariia Krasavina Bronze: Anouck Jaubert Full Results: https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition/calendar#!comp=7992&cat=24 men's Speed Gold: Vladislav Deulin Silver: Danyil Boldyrev Bronze: Dmitrii Timofeev Full Results: https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition/calendar#!comp=7992&cat=23
  24. not a day to remember for Italy...all of our guys going out early, except for Ferracuti (eventually 7th in the women's +68kg) and Semeraro, who for the 3rd time in a row lost to Gong Li in the final moments of a high scoring match that actually ended with tied score, only because of Senshu... so, she has to settle for the bronze medal match once again...
